did drake forget he started this rap battle or…?

Who would have thunk in 2024,
Drake would be going full corporate Karen on us?

imagine starting a feud,
telling someone to pull up,
and when they beat your ass,
you run to the authorities claiming assault.
that’s drake today,
filing yet ANOTHER lawsuit with his label,
UMG

…but this time over defamation from Kendrick’s diss track,
“Not Like Us”.

a track he allegedly fed dirt for,
just to cry foul when they actually used it.
that part has confused me.
funny though,
considering the wild shots he’s taken at kendrick.
let’s not forget the slander he’s thrown at megan thee stallion and rihanna.
if lawsuits are the new diss tracks,
they’ve got every right to put out a potential hit in legal documents.

Does Drake not realize his own slander can be used in discovery?
He needs to fire whoever is advising him,
STAT.

what’s really going on at cash money?
they love poking bears and acting shocked when they bite back over there.
drake’s move from rap battles to courtroom drama might just be his final act.
the credibility of the untouchable hip hop darling is looking like yesterday’s charts,
and judging from all the shit he has put out since kendrick washed him:

It’s falling fast.

lowkey: why does it feel like drake is trying to stop this from being used at the superbowl?

  1. Can we also just make a side note, Drake just moved funny as well. Drake is 38 years old, he should’ve went back into acting like he was in Degrassi. It was past time for him to move into that LL Cool J, Will Smith, Method Man space at almost 40 years old.

  2. Look, in language and communication, words have meaning. You can’t just be out here calling people rapist, pedophiles, abusers, etc. People are out here throwing around words recklessly and irresponsibly. That being said, I don’t think Drake has a legal case that will hold.

Like you said, Jamari Drake was on top and practically untouchable. Well, Kendrick Lamar not only touched him but beat the hell out of him. It might sound unfathomable, but Kendrick might have ended Drake in much the same way that 50 Cent ended Ja Rule. Kendrick has taken away all of Drake’s cool points. It’s almost looked at as corny or uncool to be caught listening to Drake at this point. Kendrick just released an unexpected album. “Not Like Us” is probably going to win multiple Grammys and, to boot, might get performed on the world’s largest stage. Yeah, Drake will probably never be on top again.

However, Jay-Z was able to survive Nas’s verbal lashing and come out on top, so you never know the future.
