who is tabitha brown’s real target here?

What do you do when someone you like…
starts sounding like a press release for a company that’s actively fumbling the bag and the culture?

two weeks ago,
i wandered into the times square target just to peep the vibe.

no mission but just fox-like curiosity.
i’m not gonna hold you:

If there’s a boycott happening,
the memo got lost somewhere with some black folks.

black folks were definitely up in there shopping.
so when tabitha brown,
someone i’ve genuinely liked and respected for her light and warmth,
posted that weird video about…

Needing us to shop at target because otherwise black authors won’t hit the New York Times list:

with the “@” target btw.
i was so confused.

black socials peeped it too.
after getting dragged,
tabitha responded with a “let me pray for y’all” moment:

…that honestly felt more like damage control than divine guidance.
respectfully,
that made no sense and her logic took a smoke break.

tbh:

If black authors are only being stocked at Target,
that’s not our problem.
That’s a bad strategy.

meanwhile,
aaron parnas over on tiktok said target’s bleeding money because of the boycott:

…and yet they still won’t walk back their DEI rollback?

tsk tsk.
tabitha might be contractually tied to target,
because business is business,

but if that is the case:

Maybe just say less.

…because if the brand you’re standing beside doesn’t stand beside us,
then the least you can do is quietly wait for the forest fire to die down.

No need to toss holy water and put on a cape for the mess they made.

lowkey: it’s interesting how people are saying she is off after this.
oh so NOW folks think she is off?

i thought everyone liked her “spiritual auntie” brand?
