saquon barkley didn’t get the “scheduling conflicts” group chat message, apparently

i know,
it sucks.

we think everyone black and fine has great decision making.
nfl baller wolf of the eagles,
jalen hurts,
is black and fine but seems to have great decision making.

…but why didn’t his teammate,
Saquon Barkley,
have great decision making?

that was the question i asked my friend yesterday.
he responded:

“He doesn’t care because he is in another tax bracket.
What I never understand is why people who aren’t in that tax bracket do it.”

he went on to say:

“This isn’t surprising coming from Saquon when you look at who he has kids with and his upbringing.”

didn’t his baby mama/fiance get caught up saying

yikes.
i guess i only saw those massive legs and thighs tbh.

ya’ll know i like when they dont talk/font too much.

…but i mean,
i guess my friend is right.
my thought is this never ends well especially when black folks do it.
once something happens,
we will quickly remind you of when you were in the sunken place:

the optics don’t look good.

x SCHEDULING CONFLICTS

these are the eagles who visited the white house yesterday:

lowkey: “scheduling conflicts” is the new phrase for canceling plans.
pass it on.

  1. The internet is undefeated when it comes to name calling, when I was looking at some of the sports shows on ESPN and Emmanuel Acho was trying to get mad because people were calling Saquon Barkley “Slavequon” or “ Herschel Walker 2.0” I hollered.

At the end of the day we all know the problem is Saquon’s white fiancé and it doesn’t help that she’s made racial comments in the past. There is a reason and a big difference between Saquon and Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts has black parents, black siblings, he has a black wife, the wife has a black family, if and when Jalen and his wife have kids they will be black. There is a certain level of commitment, dedication and investment in the black community that is present, the black tradition has embedded in it the idea of a shared fate that exist.

Saquon’s white fiancé provides an escape hatch and divestment from the black collective as a whole. I don’t think he is necessarily a bad person, he probably cares about his black parents, siblings, and black side of the family; but, him having $41 million dollars to his name means he can basically say screw the black community.

Jalen Hurts cool factor definitely went up with this, some are even calling him a hero. My only push back is I wish him and the other players didn’t use the excuse of “scheduling conflict”, I wish he would have just stood 10 toes down. It’s obvious that Jalen doesn’t rock with this administration and he’s been very respectful and dignified in his responses, I wish he would’ve just said he’s a black man who doesn’t support the policies of this administration and kept it pushing onward to his honeymoon with his wife. I mean if you’re going to shake the table, shake the table.
