This might be going off on a tangent, but this is why I think the Chris Rock / Will Smith incident is far more important and worth discussing in the black community especially; I think its time to have the discussion on what are the terms and limitations to solidarity within the community. One of the aspects that had me perplexed with the Chris Rock / Will Smith situation was the fact that Chris didn’t press charges against Will, everybody was praising Chris calling him a real one for not pressing charges and implied that if he did that he would somehow be weak or even worst a sellout. Now go over to this situation and Mr. Wilde is not press charges and talking some nonsense about black people and the police. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a fan of the police and definitely see their flaw, but with stabbings and bullet holes in the wall I’m going to have to put some paperwork on you (filling charges) black or not.
