well some coffee is being recalled for the threat of paralyzing you…

Thousands of gallons of coffee was just recalled due to an outbreak of a rare, life-threatening neurotoxin.

The Brooklyn Roasting Company recalled 3,000 gallons of its Pasteurized Cold Brew Concentrate distributed in both New York and New Jersey over possible botulism contamination.

Its Cold Brew 2.5-Gallon Bag-in-Box wholesale product is in question. The recall states that “ambient storage of the product may lead to Clostridium botulinum toxin formation.” The 1,219 units were distributed between April 1, 2026 to June 20, 2026. The Best By codes range from June 3, 2026 through September 3, 2026.

The Brooklyn Roasting Company told Inc. that it voluntarily ordered the recall and that there have been no illnesses reported. “The recall is … out of an abundance of caution.”

Clostridium botulinum is a neurotoxin that causes botulism—a life-threatening illness that attacks the nervous system and leads to muscle weakness and even paralysis. The toxin attacks the body’s nerves and can cause muscle issues, difficulty breathing, and death. There are three main types: foodborne, wound, and infant. The Center for Disease Control recommends immediate medical attention for all forms.
