yesterday at work,
there was a disgruntled customer causing chaos.
here i was,
almost late AF,
and my boss wasn’t even there.

they hired someone new and today was their crash course.
so when i walked in,
almost passing out from the humidity,
and i’m approached with panic.
so i put my shit down,
clocked in,
and went to deal with whatever was going on…
…and by the time i was done,
the customer was satisfied and everyone was in awe.
there was no yelling or cursing from me at all.
i never need to tbh.

i simply apologized for the inconvenience,
explained the situation,
and tried to assist them the best i could.
i was firm but still warm; kind but “i don’t play that”.
everyone was saying the customer was so rude to them,
but i had a completely different experience.
they backed all the way down and was so kind to me.

when my boss came back and was told the story,
they were also impressed with how i dealt with it.
it could be the entire “new yawk” but tbh:
the “disgruntled customer” i stay with taught me a lot.
even though staying with them DRAINED my energy,
there has been some good to come out of it.
the final stretch next week.
