some of us are not strong enough for fame and the entertainment industry

i’ve been thinking a lot about lil nas x tbh.
it made me realize just how awful the entertainment industry is.
it also made me think about each role someone assumes:

when you play the role of troll,
people don’t know when you are serious or not.

tbh,
so many people are breaking and killing themselves for their 15 minutes,
but once they get that first hit

they have to keep minutes on the clock to extend it.

so that means doing any and everything to stay relevant,
no matter how much of their soul is being sold.
this is why it’s important to:

have a solid support system before entering.
true friends and family that will drag you when you’re fucking up.
remembering: these people you’ll meet are not your friends.

it’s like working at a job and thinking your co-workers are down for you.
the more clout you have; the more it’ll attract others.

the more success you get; the more jackals and hyenas prey on you too.

make sure tackle all your demons before entering.
being in the public eye,
the games bts,
and the rejection can all take a toll on your mental health.
you gotta be built ford tough to withstand it all.

this means you need to start having a therapist,
getting your addictions in order,
and having thick skin from the rejections and flops.

many people,
including those who are already in it,
are not strong enough in this industry.
drug addictions,
mental breaks,

and aligning with the wrong people are all signs of that for me.
look at how many people we grew up with are broken or shells of their former selves.
look at the amount of celebs who have died too.
remember: entertainment and modeling industries don’t have an HR department.
so you are on your own and you’re level of chess playing determines how you win.

i wish everyone strength and sound mind when they entertain that forest of entertainment.

they don’t say it’s the devil’s playground for nothing.

lowkey: its similar to sex work for me.
many people are not strong enough for that either.

  1. I think it’s a mixture of the business and public opinion. A lot of artist/actors get affected by the comments everyday people leave on shaderoom, and other entertainment sites. People in entertainment are constantly under a microscope. If your movie or song doesn’t hit as hard as the previous song or movie then you are labeled a flop. I believe Nas X was affected by both the industry and the comments people continue to make about him.
