So let’s just keep it real about Mo’Nique. That stunt she just pulled was tacky and tasteless.
There is a very vocal segment of the Black community ( sometimes called the conscious community) that hates respectability politics and has a distain for Oprah and Tyler Perry and everything that they represent. The problem is Oprah and Tyler are incredibly wealthy and virtually untouchable by the common man, and so people put a battery in Mo’Nique’s back in order to wage a proxy war against Oprah and Tyler.
I hate to break it to people, but it’s not working. Oprah, at 71 and worth $ 3 billion, and Tyler Perry, estimated to be worth $ 1.4 billion, these people are relatively unfazed and unbothered. At this point, with Mo’Nique’s inability to forgive and move on, she might be blocking her own blessings, and people should not encourage that.
So she wants an apology and restitution? At some point she has to move on because an apology is not going to happen. She needs to Focus on her family and get her career back going and get some therapy.
