i don’t know if you ever felt that way,
you’ll be excited about something when it’s presented to you,
but the novelty wears off when the time starts to approach.
for halloween,
my boss wants us all to dress up as a group.
the theme:
toy story
this wasn’t like a group vote.
we didn’t suggest it or even have a say.
it was came up to us and was like,
“this would be cool cause i saw this on social media so get a costume!“.

halloween is next week and i’m not really feeling it.
not only that…
i don’t want to spend close to 80 something dollars for this costume.
i got other priorities atm.
AND not only that…
a lot of people aren’t even coming in the day we are dressing up.
as the weeks went on,
more people started to drop out.
when i told my boss i wouldn’t be able to do it last week,
they tried to guilt trip me into finding something in my spot.
i could “put together something” with what i already have.

a friend of mine made a good point too:
“is your boss buying these costumes for the office?”
“uh,
no.”
“okay your boss is a lunatic.”

honestly,
it makes sense.
i have a costume i can repurpose up in here.
it’s not “toy story” but it’s something.
lowkey: also,
i don’t like how my boss speaks to me.
my morale is out the window too.
