the black straights are upset about all the gay sex on power book 2: ghost

“What is with all this gay shit on Power?????” – one of my straight wolf associates said.

i’m not watching “power book 2: ghost” with the son,
tariq.
it’s not that i don’t wanna watch but i’m kinda “eh” about it.
i stopped watching well into the first season somewhere.
i think around their winter break.

tariq and the mother highkey annoyed me on the original power.
ill tune in one of these days.
anyway,
i’ve been hearing about the gay sex scenes on the show.
the last thing i saw was the gay brother smashing a dude in art class.
his mother,
played by mary j,
found his drawing and figured out he was gay.
i’m gonna font something that may get me in trouble.
even tho 50s mouth and fingers are wild disrespectful

This show is marketed to the black straights.
Yes,
there is a gay character on there and I’m glad to see the representation.
T
he black straights don’t wanna see gay sex involving 2 males all like that.

it would be one thing if they were mad cause there was a gay character.
we already know how homophobic some black straights are.

Are we really gonna act confused about their complaints about seeing two dudes banging each other on a straight-marketed show?

on the good news,
all the dl males who are watching the show are getting more comfortable.
representation matters.

  1. Representation matters, but its bs if they’re just tokens. Like the token black friend whose life is never explored from all 90/00s shows.

Power was marketed to black ppl. Blk gays and lezzies have been tuned in since the first season of the original, and I’m sure many (unlike me) made the jump to this (aggressively unrealistic, where the kid who looks 16 and spent all of his time living filthy rich at elite private schools decides to become a murderous drug kingpin, while completing an advanced, accelerated degree program at a great college…smh) spinoff.

Most straights don’t have problems w gay ppl existing, they just want us to do it ‘over there’. They don’t want to see MEN (esp black) being intimate because they think it’s fukn gross. The irony is that their privilege allows them to be sooo incapable of seeing us as more than our sex lives, that they can’t see that, just like them, we’re full ppl who go to school and work, stress over bills, and fuck, just like them!

The fragile hetero black man strikes again. ‘Why do I have to watch ppl not 100% like myself exist, eventho I boycotted the white ass Oscars that won’t watch my ppl exist???’

  2. These prime time soap operas are more marketed to women, who cares if straight men are uncomfortable. I’ve watched plenty shows with straight sex scenes and didn’t fuss.

If they don’t like it they can stop watching but obviously they’re not cause it’s still on and already renewed

They just want a reason to whine, bitch, & complain just like they did with PValley but the next week they were on twitter discussing the episode

  3. Shit, I haven’t had STARZ since the beginning of the pandemic. lmfao. Bitch ass directv wont offer the services for free.
