The World Won’t End After You Walk Away

end-of-the-world-gif-world-Favim.com-236979when you have good animals in your life,
you should always cherish them no matter what.
so i have this “thing”.
it’s not a good thing,
but i guess it came with the territory.
once someone does me wrong,
and i leave their ass,
they will suffer without me in their life.
it’s mostly done out of anger and hurt.
in some cases,
they do,
but you aren’t suppose to say it out loud.
karaoke always calls me out on it because it isn’t right/nice.
i’ve done it a lot.
so i did it today as i’m trying to find a new job.
this was the conversation

3753913that was such an “a ha” moment for me.
she is right.
as much i am a great animal,
the job/that animal/whoever will move on.
now i have had plenty come back to me,
but it’s wrong to wish that on anyone/anything out of spite.
just because we are done wrong,
or things didn’t work out,
that doesn’t mean things will come to full destruction for another.
we may not be forgotten,
but one animal don’t stop no show.

no matter how cocky/great/amazing we think we are

it’s best to just let it go and move on.
leaving good energy after it’s all said and done works in our favor.
sometimes animals are caught off guard when you praise their positives,
even when the situation ended with negatives.
i wanted to share this with the foxhole.
these kind of convos hopefully bring our heads down just a little.
well let’s hope.
i’ll try to remember karaoke’s wisdom next time i go left.
oh and this was my rephrase:

  1. I am late reading this entry, but needed to see it as it has hit like a ton of bricks. Just last week at this time, I had a Black Vixen manager throw me all the way under the bus and roll over in front of a racist ass white manager who relished at the chance to let my ass have it. I am not going to lie, this left me real salty, but I have myself to blame, she used something that I did not do against me. I honestly have so much on my plate that I forgot to add some information to a report. I put it to the side to do it, but never got back to it. She got mad at me about something else a couple of weeks ago and I guess she has been plotting my demise every since. I blame myself for slipping and not finishing the report but it wasnt as serious as she made it out to be but the racist manager over her of course blew it way out of proportion. I know what I am up against now and have been working over time to make sure everything is done right since they are so damn petty.

Since last week I have been plotting to make both of these hateful ass bitches pay and bring them down. I had to back up from myself and just remember that everything will change in time and let it go, and to see this entry today confirmed that fact. I too was in the same boat as Jamari when I started this job, I think we may have actually started these jobs at the same time, I too was grateful after not being able to find anything worth while but low paying temp jobs. I too like Jamari have grown weary, this job has broken me down and stressed me the hell out. I went out of my way for the Black Vixen manager many times only for her do me dirty in the end. You just have to realize that everyone is not going to be fair, or do the right thing. When dealing with nasty vile people you have to know their game and be able to beat them at it. They are usually very unhappy people and hate you and your positive energy.

    1. You are very good Tajan. I would’ve asked them if they ever made a mistake, and if they would’ve said no, I would’ve told them I didn’t realize I was in the presence of Jesus…because no human being is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, even the great ones. I would’ve then spoke with the female manager in as polite a voice as I could muster and told her that she did not have to try and humiliate me to make herself look better. As long as you don’t come across as being insubordinate and non-threatening (they love to say a black man is threatening when he speaks up) you can speak your mind.

As long as you do your job, and do it well…there isn’t shyt they can say. Especially if your performance reviews say otherwise!

Working in environments like that…I keep a note of things they say and do. And then when they try to throw something in your face, you can give ’em a lil’ reminder of what you know. The look on their face is priceless! LOL

  2. Some good advice others have shared. Never burn bridges. Always strive to keep it classy, even if you’ve been wronged. In life, former adversaries can become allies. So much in life is unpredictable.

  3. Yes. And remember, it’s easy to forget the good this job has done for you. Remember back in 2013-2014? We were all praying for you to get this job, you were so happy when you got it. You posts were bursting with joy and excitement and you couldn’t wait to tell the foxhole about your day. I realize that now the job isn’t what it used to be the new car smell has been worn off and it’s been tough on you. But think of it as a test of your character, to make you reflect on yourself, what you want and where you want to go. Think back to how many great posts you got out of this job, whether or not it seemed that way at the time. You’ve had some very interesting sagas over this journey and sure there were things that pissed you off, made you cry and generally made you want to just give up. But now with these opportunities presented to you, you should be reflecting on what this job has taught you, what to do differently at the next one, how to handle certain ppl/allow them to interact with you and mostly remember that you are not leaving with negativity but gratefulness at the fact that you firstly had a job come at your time of need, evolved through trials and learned along the way and have bonded even deeply with the foxhole because of this experience. While I do believe your best is yet to come, don’t let the past be colored by negativity. You are a bright and brilliant forest animal, let them remember you as brimming with positivity as you exit this chapter.

    1. It wasn’t the job, it was the people. Nowadays you have people that are in managerial/supervisory positions that do not know how to handle those jobs, and/or their people skills are horrendous. They need to take training classes on how to manage/supervise and communicate effectively. Working in HR I see it all the time, where you have young people in positions of authority that are not capable of leading, but how did they get that position…they know someone or their parent does. You could have the most excellent worker in a position but bad management/supervision will run them away. And if you have a supervisor that has been in the position for years…that type of personality is VERY hard to deal with. Their sense is it’s my way or the highway…and we have to tell them that’s not the mentality of an effective leader.

An effective leader is just as willing as you are to get the job done and will get in the trenches with their employee(s). You have to look at it on both sides, because you will have troublesome staff members as well, but I’ve seen that many people want the title of manager/supervisor…but don’t want the responsibility, or don’t know how to handle it. If upper management at his job were to look at the complaints against the supervisors/managers in his department, if there were any other than Jamari’s, they should have them take training classes. If you don’t have happy employees, your company will suffer. Too many execs are blind to that fact, and are removed from what’s going on around them in their office.

His work ethic spoke volumes, but look where it came from…people from outside of his own department.
Those within the department criticized and tried to sabotage. It’s ok to feel anger and bitterness toward people like that because they are messing with his livelihood. No, he doesn’t have to hold onto that feeling, because I’m sure that once he leaves it will be an afterthought. However, their insecurity and incompetence played a large part in the entire situation. It’s a situation made even worse when it’s a manager/supervisor doing it…and get others to join in.

I have people like that, with whom I’m working alongside right now. They try shady tactics, but with me, I have no problem calling you out on your BS. You will not attack my character, it’s not happening. I don’t play office politics, and I won’t let you try to use me in your games. As long as you don’t come across as being insubordinate and/or rude, you can put a person in check really fast. Because once they realize that you are not going to fall for their tactics, they generally leave you alone. There are a few that like to test you though.

Let’s be real…As Jamari moves forward, they will do nothing but bad mouth him once he’s gone. A few will say positive things, but the rest will do nothing but the opposite. Hell, they’re doing it while he’s currently working there. How can he not have a bad taste in his mouth based on this experience?!
He doesn’t have to take that negativity with him, and I don’t believe he would, but this isn’t a peaches and cream scenario. It’s more like a bitter lemon taste that’s left in the mouth.

      1. Oh don’t get me wrong. I agree with you 100%. That job seems full of a lot of swamp animals to the fullest. I was merely pointing out the good that came with the job as well. There was a bit of good in that lemon and he did get some lemonade out of it, but you are absolutely right. I just don’t want there murky attitudes to rub off on our fox’s shiny fur.

      2. Damn Christian. 3 snaps! lol Telling it from an HR prospective. Most HR people always act like mums the word.

  4. That’s some great advice she gave you. Humbleness will get anyone far in life.
