you guys are being too sensitive about trump because it’s just jokes smh

Have the 2024 election been one big practical joke?

somewhere,
it feels like the mic dropped and we are okay with it being on the floor.
we’re living through a joke of an election that isn’t very funny.
in fact,
it is quite scary how we have normalized bad behavior.
just when we thought it can’t get more un-serious,
this rally at madison square garden yesterday…

…wasn’t a presidential pitch,
but a bizarre mix of stereotypes and insensitive jokes.
watermelons,
migrants,

jews,
an island of garbage being associated with puerto rico
,
and kamala’s a-list supporters being associated with diddy parties

this wasn’t a comedy show.
this was meant to rally votes.
at what point did offensive language become “just jokes”?
is this an alleged jokes too?

if this were a regular white male at a workplace,
school,

or even a talent show,
outrage would’ve flooded the room.
somehow,
at one side’s political rally,
it’s waved off with a chuckle because it’s “just jokes”.

Why didn’t he make any jokes about the white community?

another part that really baffles me:

When the left side makes a single misstep,
they’re picked apart,
dissected,
and branded as bullies.
Why does it feel like the right side gets a pass to do the same thing?

are we just ignoring it?
or have we all become so numb that we’re willing to look the other way?

as we hold our futures in the paws of those trying to run this country

Why is none of this behavior funny?

the thing i don’t like about stans is that even if something is fucked up,
it’s “okay because someone else did it too“.
like,
this compassion of fucked up behavior doesn’t make both things okay.
to be a healthy fan/stan,
it’s okay to call out bad behavior even if it involves your fav and those around them.

lowkey: i don’t know if it’s the cancer zodiac i am but this was really vile.
i cannot believe this is where we are now.

  1. I believe in the capacity for change and growth, but as Dr. Maya Angelou said, “When people show you who they are, believe them.”

Am I disappointed by the rally in New York? Yes. Am I surprised? Not at all. These individuals have been revealing their true selves for years. Our system conditions us to overlook the actions of “white people,” avoiding the hard conversations (the elephant in the room) about the significant issues at hand.

White individuals understand their position within societal structures; they recognize hierarchy and white privilege. Yet, they often feign ignorance to escape accountability and avoid consequences. Many are voting to defend what they believe whiteness embodies, forcing a clear divide: you’re either for it or against it.

Everyone is for free speech as long as they feel they can say the N-word to some Black people, but turn around and call a white woman “Karen” with your full chest, and it’s a problem. There is a reason why they felt it was ok to go after every group except white people at that rally in Madison Square Garden. When you don’t read and don’t know history, they say you’re doomed to repeat it.
