Jonathan Majors was just found guilty in his criminal trial — after a jury decided the actor’s fate following 3 days of deliberations. He was acquitted of two other charges … one count of intentional assault and one count of aggravated harassment. Now, he faces a maximum sentence of up to a year behind bars.
eek.
the good news is:
- This is over and we can all move forward with our lives.
- If he ever tries to come out with a hip hop album,
he’ll have street cred with this guilty verdict.
all jokes aside,
i don’t think he is seeing jail.
might he be seeing a major recasting for his role in marvel?
might he be making indie movies for a little while?
might be have to put them muscles to work bts?
i need black folks to realize that even though we get in the door,
that doesn’t mean we have made it and are the golden goose.

let’s hope he learned something from this entire debacle.

I agree with you “Dean”, I was hoping for an acquittal but I did call it in Jamari’s previous post that it might be a split decision.
I do feel bad for Jonathan Majors, I do feel that after all that we’ve seen as it relates to this case a miscarriage of justice was done. The reality is Majors needed a total acquittal to protect his Marvel/Disney contract and he didn’t get that, to be honest Disney already made the decision either weeks or possibly months ago and was going to use the verdict as cover either way. I do think Disney could have stayed with Majors given the reality of the charges that he was found guilty of but it would be extremely difficult to be an advocate for a heterosexual black man and honesty as a corporation it is not their responsibility.
As far as Majors career is concerned, let’s get honest. It is a financial blow to get Dropped by Disney but Marvel movies have been in a sharp decline outside of the first “ Black Panther”, “Avengers Infinity War”, and “Avengers End Game”, the MCU has gotten worse and worse. Judging by the reaction post-verdict from the majority of the black community from lawyers to journalists and industry insiders most people see this as an injustice and this type of injustice will ingratiate you within the community. I definitely see him getting work in predominately black projects and honestly, that is the bulk of his critically acclaimed career anyway, I know him from HBO’s “ Lovecraft Country”, “ Creed 3”, “ The last black man in San Francisco “ etc.
His character literally had multiple versions. They can just recast as another Kang variant. As far as the Dr Doom stuff, um Fantastic Four isn’t coming out for a while so relaxeth.
I for one am not one of the “Marvel is too woke, too much diversity” people. Eternals was boring. It reminded me of Watchmen. Too long. Not enough going on.
However, What If, Miss Marvel, Loki and Hawkeye kept my attention. I found Falcon and the Winter Soldier EXTREMELY boring! Same for Moon Knight. Same for WandaVision. But guess what? I got to pick and choose what I liked. And experiencing it made it fun for me because I’m interested in superheroes. I didn’t just go and see it because everybody else was. Sick of people complaining. Don’t watch.
Everybody is excited for Echo ONLY because of Kingpin. I am excited because I think Hawkeye fleshed her out.
Y’all literally just want to see an angry white man kill people. I was soured on the character when this big white dude literally beat an old Black man to death. How was that a powerful scene? Being picked on for being a fat white kid is not a motive to go around killing everyone. Y’all are so sympathetic to white serial killers. It’s weird. A Black Kingpin would be hated, but that’s what people want.

As expected, Disney/Marvel kicked him to the curb with a quickness!! They wasted no time cutting their losses. 🙄
I held out hope that he’d be found not guilty. Another black man diminished or destroyed. His career is over. I’m not sure that he can make even small movies. He’s not white. If he were white, perhaps he could make small movies and try a come-back.
It’s another example of black men getting in trouble with “messing with white women”. I wonder if or when his new black girlfriend will drop him.?
He had the nerve to tell his white, British girlfriend something like she should be like Michell Obama and Coretta Scott Kind and that he’s doing much for the culture. To make such a statement is delusional! With respect to black culture, a white woman will never do! SHE CAN NEVER PRODUCE BLACK CHILDREN AND THERE IS NO BLACK CULTURE WITHOUT MORE BLACK PEOPLE!
