i didn’t watch the ’22 billboard music awards last night.
award shows don’t really hit like they use to.
half the time,
the “stars” are a bunch of people from tiktok.
mary j blige was awarded the icon award last night.
in her speech,
she thanked a management company named tristar:

tristar is connected to britney spears and her conservatorship…

it seems like nicholas wanted to point that out for us.
thank you nicholas for this.
so my next question is:

What are we supposed to do with this information?

mary j and britney are two separate entities in two different realms.
she wasn’t her guardian as britney was in this conservatorship.
mary j is a celebrity and that is her management.
it also isn’t mary’s business either.
what is the boycott?
mary thanked God while britney was under a conservatorship too.

Should we boycott God too?

this sounds like misdirected anger to me.
instead of worrying about mary j,
the real concern should be about this gentleman.

i’m not sold on him at all.

  1. I Think the problem here is that people can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, multiple things can be true at the same time. The conservatorship seemed to be horrible and very exploitive but I also think that Britney has shown us through her recent antics that she is not in a good space emotionally/mentally and that maybe some form of guardianship is necessary

  3. I’m still stuck on the comparison between Britney and Mary, period. I mean come on, he doesn’t know Mary. Its clear. The fact he is comparing Britney to Mary. Mary has more accolades than Britney in TV and film. You can not compare Mickey Mouse Club to Power Book 2. Mary was Dr. Betty Shabazz in Betty and Coretta. Playing Malcolm X wife opposite the woman who actually played Malcolm’s wife in Malcolm X movie. The Queen, Angela Bassett! Where is the comparison

  4. Mary J Blige has paid alot of dues . Never the less leave but at home. Black female music artist are treated very badly by the Industry they make billions for. Let Mary have her moment. Mary knows what up.
