when i asked cousin hybrid his thoughts on the recent nicki,
he said:
“she was never quite high above it to me.
she’s been telling ya’ll she’s crazy with roman lol”
it sat on my noggin for about bit.
i mean,
i get the roman alt and loved it but when did we all get so brain dead that we can’t see…
something is up with nicki?
i mean,
check her current ( x x-twitter ) rants.
its like the people coddling britney with the “dancing”…

…with or without dog poop on the floor.
nicki’s shtick these days is ranting,
like,
all the time and it’s always about jay,
roc nation,
desiree whoever and whatever,
cardi,
and Lord knows who else at any given moment.
where is her husband?
her family?
friends?
PR?
this is getting so bizarre.
all she has is her stan base egging her on for dragging people,
but they don’t GAF about her.
it’s like the ye stans when he goes on his rants.

another issue i’m having is she is a rapper.
one of the best female rapping vixens of this generation.
back in the other timeline,
when things were grand,
she use to drop mixtapes where she said whatever she wanted.
why is she not using that formula atm?
expressing herself in her music,
feeding her fans art,
without all this endless ranting on social media.
has hiphop gotten this corporate now?
you had to be there when ( x datpiff ) was a thing.
you’d go on there to hear “before the industry/hungry” nicki drop.

now it’s “can afford to never be hungry/bored/angry at everyone” nicki.
an issue most have once they make it from humble beginnings.
i think nicki is hurt and the only way she can process her hurt is through ranting.
…but this can’t be her legacy,
can it?
lowkey: the industry can really break you.
hell,
life in this current time can really break you.

I don’t think Nicki Minaj isn’t hurt or in need of healing.
Let’s just keep it real, Nicki is at the top of her game and still looks good, but Nicki is also 42 years old, and the industry and the machine that runs it are telling Nicki, like it has told many artists before her, that it’s time for her to sit down and step aside. The industry wants Cardi B (33 years old), Megan the Stallion ( 30 years old), and Doja Cat ( 30 years old).
People don’t notice it as much because of the transition that other artist have made into other ventures and industries, but the music industry sat Queen Latifah down but she transitioned into a much bigger acting career, the industry sat Mc Lyte, Eve, Da Brat,Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, LL Cool J, Ice T, Ludacris, even Diddy and Will Smith who both released albums that nobody bought.
I feel like the real question here is that of Ageism, and while part of me wants to root for Nicki, but I also have to keep in mind the very same role she played when it came to Lil Kim. Also and mark my words if Beyoncé isn’t next. If Beyoncé doesn’t find a way to truly enter into her Tina Turner phase, you’re going to start seeing articles criticizing Beyoncé’s performances and asking if she’s lost a step or two as well.
