The Foxhole was rooting for michael b. jordan

one of my biggest regrets is not seeing “sinners” when it was in theaters.
i missed an important cultural moment due to finances.
i feel the same about not seeing “weapons” either.
“sinners” was sooooooooooooooo good:

i think i’ve seen that movie over 20 times now.

…and every single time i watched it,
i saw or heard something new even if it was minor.
that being fonted…

michael b. jordan DESERVED that win for best actor.

the way he performed as twins in the movie was s-tier.
not only that,
he gave one of the best performances of his career.
ryan coogler and michael are like a fork in a kitchen.
their chemistry and creativity go well together.
personally,
i think “sinners” should have swept the entire night.

was “one battle after another” that good to win best picture of 2026?

huge congrats to mbj,
ryan coogler…

and everyone who picked up an award for “sinners”:

well deserved but especially for michael b. jordan.

this makes him the 6th black actor to take that award.

don’t even get me started that there is only 6 black actors to ever get that award.

lowkey: i’m glad timothée chalamet went running his mouth.
i don’t even think “marty supreme” was a top contender over what mbj did.
i love the shade they threw him during the “sinners” performance towards the end
tho.

mm.

  1. I’m a little conflicted. I was happy to see Michael B. Jordan win the Oscar. He’s put in a lot of work, going all the way back to 1999, that’s 27 years in the game. From the outside looking in, I like Jordan’s character; he seems to be a solid, upstanding man. I like Jordan as a person, and I like the idea of Jordan; I just find it hard to get into the characters that he plays.

I think it’s been cool to see him go from a token expendable black kid sidekick to a leading man. I think what’s cool as a sidenote is that the horror genre won big at the Oscars, which is usually a genre that gets overlooked. I also like that he is able to do sci-fi and horror, and hopefully one day fantasy; and maybe that will encourage other black actors and actresses to do the same, because those fields are wide open for black people to tell stories that haven’t been seen because black people have been somewhat excluded from those genres.
