Foxhole: if you do this, it ends with you winning the war

Have you ever wondered if sometimes the best way to win a war is by simply staying silent?

in the forest of power plays and PR battles,
silence can speak louder
than any defense.
just ask justin baldoni,
the actor/director behind “it ends with us,
who handled his BTS clash with blake lively like a true strategist.

last week,
blake’s past came back to haunt her as she was ( x trying to play the victim )…

1 – The internet was flooded with an interview that exposed her passive-aggressive tendencies.

x see here

2 – Her controversial plantation wedding reared its ugly head again.

x see here

3 – Those old Gossip Girl set dramas resurfaced,
reminding everyone of her not-so-sunny side.
I read about barks that the cast and crew allegedly couldn’t stand her.

x see here

4 – Perhaps the biggest misstep is she seriously misjudged how little people actually like her.
Not to mention being friends with Taylor Swift didn’t help either.

just when you think it couldn’t get worse:

5She came off very UN-serious about such a serious topic.

She promoted hair products and her alcohol brand while working on a movie about domestic violence.
The irony?
Alcohol is one of the biggest triggers in domestic violence,

and she named her drink “Ryle You Wait,”
after the abuser in the film.

i thought this movie was a typical white rom movie.
the trailer did not give a DV story at all.

blake’s decisions about this movie were a train-wreck of bad PR.

when i saw justin hired ( x a crisis team ),
it all made sense.
he could be a villain too but the crew of that movie has allegedly sided with him.
blake may have more power BTS,
but justin played it smart.
instead of firing back,
he let the PR team poke holes in her reputation,
letting her own past and current actions do the talking.

here’s what i’ve learned about navigating battles with those who have more power:

Sometimes,
doing nothing is the smartest move.
Let them think they won because over time,
as they burn more bridges,
you’ll find yourself winning the war.

when people finally turn to you for the truth,
all you have to do is confirm what they already know.
just sprinkle in a little extra dirt to bury them further.

The key is to keep your own paws clean.

…because if you’re just as messy as they are,
the strategy falls apart.
silence is golden but only if you’re not covered in mud too.

lowkey: i feel like it was easy to win the war in my past because they were all narcs.
narcs HATE when their bad behavior gets exposed.

i didn’t have to do anything.
Foxhole tip:

If people are nasty to you for the sake of being nasty,
that means they are probably nasty to other people as well.

There is ALWAYS a trail of gasoline following them.
Start your investigation there.
