Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) has been tapped to star in Lanterns, HBO‘s high-profile series based on the Green Lantern DC comic. He is set to play John Stewart opposite Hal Jordan, a role Kyle Chandler has been in negotiations for and expected to close.

Pierre landed the John Stewart part after an extensive search. As Deadline reported two weeks ago, in the process’ final stages, he had emerged as a frontrunner alongside Stephen James.

folks going off about kamala’s heritage like wtf does that have to do with her running the country?
we had a game show host,
who was/is a closet racist,
that ran the country so i think we can let anyone else have a shot.
the darker skinned actors should have done a better job,
eh?
not only that,
a black male is getting more work and that should be celebrated.
aaron is a good actor and looks even better on camera.
sounds good enough for me and they will have to deal.
