Twist The Knife Judge, Just Twist The Knife!

It’s probably very difficult for an NFL player to hear someone tell him that his career is probably over. It’s probably even harder for that news to come from a man carrying a gavel and wearing a robe.

That’s what happened to Terrell Owens on Wednesday, though, as Judge Marc Marmaro got all judgmental on him. Owens was in court in an attempt to reduce his child support payments because he’s broke. Here’s what went down, according to TMZ.

T.O.’s lawyer made it clear — his client is a man without a team and therefore a man without a paycheck. The judge went one step further, telling T.O. his prospects for a comeback are bleak.

Judge Marmaro said, “His NFL career seems to be over. I mean no disrespect.”  T.O. nodded his head in acknowledgment.

What a sad head nod that must’ve been. The news had to come from a judge.

The judge wasn’t totally heartless, though. He did offer a little bit of support to Owens, telling him that Kurt Warner made a run to the Super Bowl after a stop in the Arena League.

Of course, he left out the part about Kurt Warner not being 38 years old at the time, coming off a catastrophic knee injury, or being saddled with the label of a malcontent team-killer. The stories may not be totally similar.

The judge has not yet ruled on whether or not he’ll lower Owens’ child support payments. Lowering the boom on his NFL hopes was enough for one day.

  1. I aint shedding too many tears for this Drama “Queen”, I just got to put it out there, TO is having all these kids to cover up what his true nature is. Its so obvious that his other side has tormented him his whole life and the women and children and macho football persona will not cover it up. He can hang it up, getting a gig on ESPN or the NFL network due to his shit talking ways and his trash talk about so many players and analyst, he has burned many bridges. He is not going to get much love from the NFL Frat. Its a hard fall but he needs a reality check so he can see that all these people who loved him when he was on top could give a shit now, the famous friends and hangers on, have moved on the next one. Lets just hope he does not have a serious breakdown since the limelight has been turned off.

Sorry TO but its time to get real and start selling that ass on Craiglist or start a reality based show call the “The Real Down Low Men of the NFL” that should at least put you back in the spotlight. Good Luck Playa!!!!

  2. As fucked up as it might sound and I tell this to my friends, that you dont have to go through this child support, or anything when you with a dude part time. Lets say in a hypothetical situation T.O had him a fox on the side, shit would be different he would have about 2 or 3 less kids. I’m just sayin

  3. This is a sad case. I don’t feel sorry for people who earn way more than they need to, and mismanage their funds. What about the struggling people who live paycheck to paycheck trying to make ends meet? I have more respect for them if they mismanage their funds.

  4. I’m no TO fan, and I dnt feel sorry for aa man who has 50 different baby mams…But fuck a mn wearing a gown and holding a gavel…He is not God! Those judges tend to think way to highly of themselves at times…They are not the law!, they just practice it…Im reminded of that video going around recently where the judge waved her hand at a White woman to shrug her off and said get out of my court room…Ol girl charged the judges ass. I wish she would have got to her,,,Some people need an awakening sometimes…And maybe TO needs one as well, but whos to say a team won’t pick him up? It damn sure aint some frickin judge! #ijs

It’s unfortunate how ballers, particularly NFL’ers, find themselves destitute after their careers are over. Getting rich is one thing
Maintaining it is another! Just think how many young black men gotten rich or well-to-do (even league minimum is banking). Thousands! Then think how much better off our community would be if those thousands would have properly maintained their wealth, including SOUND investments that either directly or indirectly helped the community. Instead, droves mismanage their money. And falling from the top is much harder to deal with (mentally) than always being on the “bottom”. Speaking from experience!

Insert Eddie Curry: “Curry went to Allstar in 2008 and took out the five-month personal loan at an 85% interest rate – legal only in Las Vegas.

Knicks scrub Eddy Curry is having trouble paying back a $570,000 personal loan because he’s got so many bills. Like the personal chef, the Rolls-Royce, the private school tuition and $650 a month on cable TV.

Not to mention the $350,000 he owes NBA star Juwan Howard and the unpaid mortgage on his mansion. Those are just some of the expenses Curry detailed in court papers to explain why he couldn’t afford to pay back Allstar Capital.”

Iyanla Vanzant once said on Oprah, speaking about her race to bankruptcy, that she didn’t have a millionaire mentality. She had a millionaire check with a project mentality. Thinking she had to live paycheck to paycheck, even while making that Oprah associated money. You can make a millie, but if your expenses are close to a millie or heaven forbid higher, than you still shit up the creek.

You have some who have done well with their post career ventures, like Magic, Keyshawn Johnson, and a relative few others. If a baller were smart, they should shadow them.

  6. And why make the same mistake someone did over and over and over and over???? U know the are enough stories about groupies, baby mamas, child support, and overdrawn accounts to fill up the abyss! Why, when you enter the league, not learn from past people’s mistakes and stay clear of potholes!
