after a long dry spell,
and a few people who came in too fast and disappeared just as quickly,
i’m re-learning how to open up again while being emotionally sore.

on super bowl sunday,
i was invited to a party at this new place i’m in.
i’ve been here about a month now and i’ve started mingling.
well tbh,
people started mingling with me.
one thing about me is:

people want access to me and get comfortable fast.

i don’t know if it’s my energy,
my softness,
or the way i make people feel safe but it happens.

so i met a straight couple downstairs last week,
and after about an hour of talking,
they told me to come through to this party they were having.
honestly?
it was so much fun.
being around new people reminded me of who i am,
how easily i connect,
and how much i enjoy meeting new wolves…
uh,
people.
meeting new people.

after the high has come down,
i find myself paused on all of it at 411am…

White America,
let’s font.

we’ve sat through your bruce springsteen anthems,
your queen ballads,
your ac/dc guitar solos,
your taylor swift eras,
and your madonna reinventions.
now i do like taylor and madonna.
still,
we watched and we nodded.
we even did a two-step when the beat hit.

…but now,
because kendrick dared to give a performance with depth,
lyricism,
and black excellence,
suddenly…

There’s an issue?

fox news is in shambles,
per usual…

^this shot goes so hard.
the bending as the flag symbolizing how the US was built off the backs of blacks.
you KNOW that pissed them off but…

Isn’t it funny how some people only see the frosting but never question what’s in the cake?

last night,
while most were just hyped for “not like us” at the halftime show,
i couldn’t help but see the layers kendrick was serving.
first off,
let’s give drake a standing ovation…

the so-called kings of the nfl got their crowns snatched at the super bowl.
hell,
it was legit handed to them tbp.
last night wasn’t just a regular super bowl:

It was a reckoning.

while the forests were preparing for a “look at how taylor reacts” glaze sesh…
and can we font about what her manz was wearing last night?

ugh.
i would NEVER let my manz walk out the door like that.
like,
WTF is that?
i know him saying ( x he didn’t like gumbo ) made the spirits MAD too.
something far more satisfying ended up unfolding…

i don’t have cable to keep up with sports these days.
i know i was all eyes watching the nba last season tho.
that season was a wash,
but the finals…

I wanted to see if Brooklyn would have brought home the ring.

sadly,
kd showed up and got performance anxiety.
is it wrong to think the knicks winning the ring would have hit more?
anyhoo,
everyone who isn’t a sports fanatic looks forward to watching the superbowl halftime show.
that is when our selected favorites pull out their best for their career upgrades.

all the baller,
celebs,
rapper,
actor,
and singing wolves are down in atl for the super bowl this year.
the same one many claim they were protesting.
mmhmm.
which means for those living down there,
or in the city for the weekend,
they’re probably in for a treat and some meat (if you’re lucky).
