great balls of grease fire!

Panic has a funny way of turning even the smartest among us into complete disasters.

it’s kind of like how those clueless white vixens,
who always run…

when fear takes over,
you’re stuck in fight,
flight,

or freeze mode.

If there’s a fire on your stove,
freezing isn’t exactly a winning strategy.

case in point of what was on my elon swamp timeline….

“It’s on fire!
What do I do?!”

x see it on the swamp

and then asking her chat what she should do.
oh,
i dunno…

Turn off the stove!

let’s be real,
some people’s first instinct is to throw water on it.
some time a few months ago,
i was that day’s years old when i learned the golden rule:

Never throw water on a grease fire unless you’re aiming for a kitchen explosion.

instead,
grab a lid or even a pot and smother that aggressive flame.

you know,
kinda what we have to do when “DO NOT ANSWER” is trying to show face again.

what?

i couldn’t resist.
whatever you do,
don’t pick up or toss the flaming pan onto the floor either.

I don’t think I need to add a spoiler alert about what could happen.

  1. Grease fires are scary! I remember having one when I was a kid, someone was trying to cook homemade French fries and wasn’t paying attention to the grease and it got too hot and the next thing you know the whole pan was on fire, and just like the video someone tried to throw water on it and it created a fireball. Luckily, we were able to put it out by covering it and no one was hurt and there was no damage.

My question would be, however, for Thanksgiving what are people cooking? I get people like to fry turkeys nowadays, honestly its kind of hype to me, but they make (and I highly recommend as someone who has had to fry several turkeys) turkey fryers for that. If you’re cooking turkey, ham, greens, dressing, gravy, yams, mashed potatoes, a roast, Mac and cheese, what are you cooking that requires that level of grease?

If you wouldn't say it on live TV with all your family and friends watching, without getting canceled or locked up, don't say it on here. Stay on topic, no SPAM, and keep it respectful. Thanks!
