don’t tell your mother; la county is in the crib for the summer (cool for the summer?)

summer 2020 is officially cancelled.
hell,
2020 is cancelled.
i don’t think we gonna see each other unless its on zoom or house party.
well la county has officially extended their countdown.
this is how long folks gonna be in the crib via “la times“…

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home orders will “with all certainty” be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

Ferrer later added that even if the orders remain in place through the summer, restrictions will be “gradually relaxed” under a five-step plan.

“We are being guided by science and data that will safely move us forward along the road to recovery in a measured way—one that allows us to ensure that effective distancing and infection control measures are in place,” Ferrer said, adding that the county is counting on the public’s compliance with the orders to be able to relax restrictions.

Testifying before the Board of Superviros, Ferrer stressed further progress will be guided by efforts to contain the virus. Los Angeles County is now the Calfornia epicenter of the coronavirus, with more than 1,300 deaths so far.

“Our hope is that by using the data, we’d be able to slowly lift restrictions over the next three months,” she said. But without widely available testing for the coronavirus or rapid home kits that would allow people to test themselves daily, it seems unlikely that the social distancing directives and stay-at-home orders would be completely eased.

can i be honest af without judgment at the moment?
all judgment off the table.

I enjoy the meltdowns and think pieces on social media

it legit cracks me tf up.
even though i’d love a good brunch or to see my friends,
at this point,
i’m like “whatever“.
i’d rather this shit solved before i walk my foxy ass into a day party.

even though cuomo extended new yawk’s lock down for another 3 weeks,
i have a feeling it will be extended even more.
ya’ll…

the fact some states are open baffles me,
but i feel the ones extending know something.
stay woke.

low-key: my hairline is gonna be full disrespect by the time this is over.

  1. Nobel Laureate Paul Romer said tonight–like he’s been saying–that if the US wants to get through this semi-whole, get back to work, repair the economy, and not suffer through an even worse winter, there has to be widespread testing, many millions of tests per week and everyone would be tested every two weeks until there is an effective vaccine or vaccines.

What did that racist Cheeto, not wearing a mask while touring a PPE factory today in Pennsylvania? ““It could be that testing’s frankly…ah, overrated?” WTF? Then, later he said, “When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing we would have very few cases.”

This is one reason the states aren’t following any kind of coherent, concerted plan on testing, which every country which has weathered this has in place. Cheeto buried the absolutely crucial CDC plans, which got leaked anyway. He could not get testing together in the beginning, then the first tests were flawed. (The current Abbott Lab tests he bragged about may give off false negatives!) I won’t list all his failures but they’re long enough to fill Broadway from the Bronx to Battery Park. Now he’s urging governors to open up, all to prop up the fantasy that everything is OK. It’s not. We had better take care of ourselves because his death cult doesn’t care if all of y’all end up 6 feet under!

    1. ^my cousin in barbados said to me today that he feels trump is trying to purge america with this.
all these minorities dying and all lot of these hate crimes against black folks aren’t coincidence.

    2. Second paragraph: What did that racist Cheeto, not wearing a mask while touring a PPE factory today in Pennsylvania, say about testing? ““It could be that testing’s frankly…ah, overrated?” WTF? Then, later he said, “When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing we would have very few cases.”

  2. This whole thing is a mess. States are left to their own devices to figure things out. The federal government should be doing much much more than it is. Without proper testing on a large scale, the sheltering in place can’t really be lifted responsibly. States are having to compete against each other for resources such as tests.

Look at places like South Korea, Germany, and new Zealand. These places are doing so much better than us. They have competent leadership from the top.

  3. At this point it is whatever. Then again these are much larger locals with a lot of people. My state will be reopening this week. I don’t have anything to go to until June but I’m glad they are reopening. I’ll still be at home until then but people around here are still going out, vibing. I stay in a college city and the folks really aren’t THAT pressed it seems.

Some states are opening because they need to. What’s the point of the government giving folks money to stimulate the economy if people are stuck in the house like lab rats? Places in my state are still maintaining precautions, asking people to wear masks and applying proper sanitation methods and what not but businesses are opening up allowing a minimal amount of people to enter facilities and continue. So I don’t see the reopening steadily as a bad thing at all.

Although people in the North don’t have to worry about this, hurricane season is drawing ever so closely. Even so, it is summer, the temperatures are raising, utility bills will skyrocket and I don’t know how people expect to maintain a lifestyle stuck up in the house waiting on government assistance… The future? Some folks are folks getting evicted right now.

I don’t know how other states are handing rent, mortgages and what not.

The letter I got from a leasing agent in my state said that people need to still pay rent and if any rent is not paid for any of those months you will have to pay it as a lump sum when this is finally “over”

I don’t know how people in places like California and NYC are managing. Here, prices are affordable and you can find a decent one bedroom for $900. I hear rent is extremely high in those other places though so how will they be able to manage staying at home for so long when you factor in food, basic living needs and what not?
Is the goby going to be able to bail out everyone? I hear some people are still waiting on their first Stimulus check.

  4. Serve their legal ass right, thats what they get for playing in the sand early and Mr. Elon Musk defying orders. Now if its another 3, Washington betta pass that Covid Stimulus Friday.

    1. ^they better!!!!!

i feel like these stimulus checks are gonna be a real bitch to pay back.
      it’s all good now,
but are we gonna regret this money in the future?

  5. I fully expect rolling brownouts/blackouts before the end of the year.
