corny isn’t a look; its a vibe

what is corny,
really?

i found myself asking that question today while watching everyone drag akademiks:

it is giving loud,
off,

and “do these people even like him?”.
everything about it screamed cornball behavior but i had to wonder:

We throw the word “corny” around a lot but what are we actually calling out?

right now

…drake feels a little off-key.
it’s the braids,
the clothes,
the nails,
the lawsuits,
and the hanging with 20-something streamers for clout.
he isn’t being strategic or composed.
the last two or three years has turned him into a try-hard.

Drake started doing TikTok dances while Adin Ross tried to give a motivational speech on the stream 😭 #drake #adinross

it reminded me of some of the so-called “wolves” i wanted to fuck.
males who looked confident but moved like boys auditioning for attention.

So what is corny?

for me:

it’s energy.
it’s forced charisma
it’s performative ego.
it’s insecurity wrapped in fake confidence.
it’s flex without foundation.

it’s being ultra-annoying for absolutely no reason.

that’s why i’m not impressed by most people with money.
money enhances the corn and awakens sleeping monsters.
if your personality’s entire plot line is “look what i bought”,
i’ve already scrolled past.
if the plot line is “it’s less about me and more of the luxury of what i bought”:

when the intent is just to show off,
it doesn’t read rich AF:

It reads hollow.

real presence doesn’t have to scream and knows when to be quiet.
corny is the desperate need for outer applause.

We can always tell when someone’s movement is manufactured.

…and tbh,
we are all corny to someone(s).

lowkey: corny can be cute when done right.
