Chris Culliver Says He Doesn’t Do Gays and They Are NOT Welcomed In The Locker Room

well all hell is about to break loose.
a couple of days before the superbowl too?
chris?
seriously?
what were you thinking?
who does this dude’s PR?
you don’t say shit like this before you big game where you want people to root for you…

Gay football players are NOT welcome in the San Francisco 49ers locker room … at least according to one current 49ers player.

Chris Culliver — who started 6 games as cornerback for the team this season — made the homophobic comments to Artie Lange during a radio interview at a Super Bowl media event earlier this week.

When asked if gay players would be welcome on the team, Culliver said … “I don’t do the gay guys man. I don’t do that.”

Artie then asked if Chris knew of any gay players on his team … to which Culliver answered, “No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.”

He continued, “Can’t be with that sweet stuff. Nah … can’t be … in the locker room man. Nah.”

Culliver also said … if a gay player were to make it in the NFL, he should not only keep his sexuality a secret from the other players  … but stay quiet for 10 YEARS after that.

Culliver and the 49ers will take the field on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens — a team which features a very outspoken pro-gay rights advocate Brendon Ayanbadejo.

Culliver’s feelings are NOT shared by his entire team … earlier this week, several members of the 49ers spoke in SUPPORT of gay players … including coach Jim Harbaugh.

“I ask all players to play through their own personality and be who they are. What you ask of a player is to be a great teammate and be a good player. My expectations would be the same,” Harbaugh said. “Personally, there’s no discrimination in my heart.”

Linebacker Larry Grant echoed Harbaugh … saying, “At the end of the day, we are all family in this locker room, and we accept each player for whoever they are.”

Ditto for cornerback Tarell Brown … who said, “Whatever makes you happy, do it. I just feel like, you shouldn’t hide it. At the end of the day don’t be embarrassed with what you are, or what you do. If you are that way, that’s you.”

Earlier this year, several members of the team participated in a video for the “It Gets Better” campaign to provide support for the LGBT community. Culliver was not featured in the video.

I guess he missed the memo about that video?
how he know his teammate he rolled with aren’t gay?

i won’t lie,
i thought he was cute.
i woulda fucked him.
turns out,
he is an asshole.
oh well.
ya win some; ya lose some?
not everyone will like “us”.
that’s okay.
we don’t have to like their ass either.

the team had to collectively hem his ass up and rebuke those statements…

3:15 PM PT — The 49ers organization is speaking out AGAINST Culliver … saying the team “rejects” Chris’ comments.

A rep for the 49ers says the team has already addressed the matter with Chris … and adds, “There is no place for discrimination within our organization at any level.”

“We have and always will proudly support the LGBT community.”

  1. I don’t get why ppl are surprised by his comments. Even in 2013, some people still feel this way.

I would’ve respected him more if he would’ve stood by his original statement though.

    1. Maybe it’s surprising because he plays for the Niners. Teams like them giants, jets,Saints, cowboys, falcons, and dolphins should keep the homo bashing at a minimum because these city’s have strong gay community’s

    2. Me too. It’s obvious that someone of a higher power changed his mind. Most gays are undetectable by straight people, so you never know who is who. That statement he made was very ignorant. A gay person has even been to his crib whether he knew it or not. As we all know you never know who gets down on the low. In high school I knew gay athletes, had a couple of them as friends, they didn’t know that I knew but I did. What made it sad was the fact that he’s an athlete making a public statement like that. Before I got like this I hated gays guys, now look at me, and it wasn’t cause I was in denial either. Again, I never would have thought. Chris better chill, five years from now he may be waving a rainbow flag lol.

  2. Its funny how he saying all that Neg. ass shit and he plays for a city that has gay flags waving at most of their businesses… would be mad funny if a hyena blasts his ass with some homo text msgs and a dick pic to prove it! lol

  3. Frank Gore admitted “It would be tough” for a homosexual player to find acceptance on a pro football team.

“If you are gay, you are gay,” Gore said. “I don’t have a problem with it. If that’s what (you) want to do, I’m fine with it. That’s their business and you shouldn’t be in another man’s business.”

Culliver released a statement on Wednesday though the 49ers:

“The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel. It has taken me seeing them in print to realize that they are hurtful and ugly. Those discriminating feelings are truly not in my heart. Further, I apologize to those who I have hurt and offended, and I pledge to learn and grow from this experience.”

      1. Of course not, I’m not buying it either. The man upstairs got on that ass, and I’m not talking about Jesus. Forget that nig.

      2. He has horrible grammar, and again another dumb statement. He will die broke if he doesn’t learn how to spell? Dieing? SMH.

  4. Clearly football is the only thing this dumbass knows about, another ignorant uneducated fool who will be broke in 5 years, and will be begging some queen to help him pay his rent and child support. He can kiss any endorsements goodbye. I know he is stupid to play for San Francisco and say some stupid shit like this. The front office, coaching staff, and people who work for the team on top of some of the players he doesnt know about are bound to be gay. This dude had a harsh upbringing in the mean Philly streets and for him to be this close minded sort of boggles the mind in 2013. Im not going to even start on that gay ass mirror pose serving us a half open can of tuna in oil. I can almost bet that in order for him to stay in San Francisco next season he is going to have to appear in the annual San Francisco -Folsom Street Parade wearing nothing but a red jock strap and a smile.

  5. *puts up middle finger* FUCK HIM. I’m with you Jamari. Who does his PR? They should be fired. Who says that? Oh and his choice of words made it worse. On some real shit it sounds like he’s over compensating for something. Many dudes on the low try too hard to convince others they are straight to the point they over do it. Yes, some men are that determined lol. It was just not that deep for him to go in the way he did. If he thinks that no gay players are on the team then he is stupid as hell. “they got to get up out of here if they do” Really dude?

He will be getting a huge fine from Roger Goodell before the week is over. He shouldn’t get to play in the Super Bowl either. Don’t fine him, but hit him where it hurts. We can say all day that many players could care less about getting a ring as long as they are getting paid, but not getting to play in the Super Bowl with your team would hurt anyone, whether you are in it for the money or not.

    1. ^why would someone who was closeted be so obvious?
i notice a lot of homophobes do this.
i would imagine it would be easier to just shut up and not bring any attention to my dl activities.
      look at eddie long.

i’m starting to think these homophobes mean overtly feminine guys.
      notice his words “sweet stuff”.
