azealia banks uses beyonce to drag normani?

give it up 3 times for normani.

1- she still has our attention

2 – she is booked and busy

3 – she got critiqued by azealia banks

it seems you haven’t “made it” until azealia banks drags you.
this is what azealia alleged wrote under a recent video of normani.
it was from her appearance on the “savagexfenty” show…

CMON @normani ???????????? #SAVAGEFENTYSHOW

A post shared by Ashton ™ ♋️???????????? (@yaboia2020) on

this was azealia’s alleged comment:

so beyonce is pretty much “the legend” of this generation.
she has always been the inspiration for many of the younger (and older) gals.
tina tuner and diana ross (destiny’s child) were the inspiration for beyonce.
the same way beyonce’s career was molded similiarly to theirs,
normani’s career is getting a few tweaks to match beyonce.

That’s okay

first of all,
no one is “replacing” beyonce.
her legacy is already set in stone.
you can’t replace anyone who has continues to pay their dues.
secondly,
beyonce is getting older.
she won’t be doing an 8 count on a 150 city forever.
she will be retiring and moving on to other things sans performing.
lastly,
if normani admires b and takes bits and pieces from her…

So what?

beyonce should be thrilled.
they’ve always emulated beyonce,
but most could never emulate that work ethic.

when did it become so wrong for someone to want to emulate you?
wasn’t that always a compliment?

britney spears,
a legend in her own lane,
did it with janet and madonna.
arianna came out the gate wearing mariah‘s old costumes and notes.
personally,
i don’t like it when it’s done in a spiteful way.
normani comes off like “she is my idol and paved the way for me“.

Will anyone ever feel the same about Azealia?

will her name ever be mentioned among the greats?
does anyone want to emulate how she has handled her career?

  1. Am I missing something…Someone please explain to me how she’s mimicking Beyonce? She didn’t choreograph this, Parris Goebel did. Last time I check half of what Beyonce has done mimicked others (plenty of side by side comparisons videos to prove it), she’s just the most memorable face that people will identify it with. Too many blame an artist while completely forgetting the label power behind the artist. The further into her career the more control she’ll have to be able to express herself in her own creative image. Think Dangerously In Love vs Lemonade.

  2. I just need her to learn how to sing live and develop her own sound. I don’t mind the Beyoncé homage she pays because she hasn’t put out an actual album yet. Once she does put out an album then it’s high time she becomes her own woman.

It’s a shame what Azealia has turned out to be. She had potential to be an underground force. I still jam to 212, Anna Wintour and the Big Bang.
