I just had to tell someone recently:
“You always pick things against your best interest.
You choose the wrong men and the wrong life choices.
You’ve been not only a consistent disappointment in my life,
but with those around you.
We have all grown accustomed to YOU doing the wrong shit.
Why would I believe you’d make the best decision that would help me?”
Needles to font,
we aren’t speaking atm.
It felt good to say it out loud.
i’m at the point of my life where i don’t expect much anymore.
my expectations are low when it comes to certain people/things.
if someone/something has a habit of showing up,
i keep my expectations at a healthy place.
other people/things:
it helps you from being disappointed instead of getting you hopes up.
if the opposite happens,
you can act like a kid who got what they wanted for christmas.
i’m glad i didn’t expect much from the cmas in regards to cowboy carter cause…
mmm.
maybe they didn’t give her anything because she said it was a “beyonce album”?
i’m glad they didn’t nominate her,
ask her to perform,
only to humiliate her by giving her nothing.
either way:
Expectations weren’t high anyway so no need to be disappointed,
am I right?
even though my expectations are to the floor,
let’s hope the grammys makes us feel like christmas.
lowkey: i still bump that album.
it’s one of my favs this year.
i do think bey dropped the ball in promotion tho.
We seen it coming. I’m sure Beyonce ain’t gonna lose no sleep over it. However they proved her point.
It wasn’t a country album tho so I don’t get the fake outrage. There are already! multiple black successful country artists out there before she even sort of dipped her toes in the genre
