i’ll let the new york post tell it…
Retired NBA star Ray Allen said he is a victim of “catfishing,” and has asked a court to throw out a case where he is accused of stalking someone he met online.
Allen filed an emergency motion in Orange County, Fla., on Tuesday, one day after Bryant Coleman told the court he is being stalked by the 10-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion.
Allen said Coleman is the one who is stalking.
“Coleman pretended to be a number of attractive women interested in Ray Allen,” read the motion filed on Allen’s behalf. “Ray believed he was speaking with these women and communicated with them.”
Attorney David Oscar Markus released a statement saying Allen took legal action in an effort to put an end to threats against him and his family, and that Allen was the victim “of an online scheme to extract money and embarrass him by someone who appears to be troubled.”
In the filing, Allen said Coleman threatened to reveal details of their conversations, and that the sides eventually struck a deal to keep everything private. Allen said that deal has been violated and that Coleman has continued to harass him and his family through several social-media accounts.
“He posted about Ray’s wife, Ray’s children, Ray’s dog, Ray’s homes, Ray’s wife’s restaurant, and numerous other personal items,” read the motion. “Coleman not only posted about these things, he would actually post while physically located inside Ray’s wife’s restaurant in Orlando. And he would make sure they knew it, tagging Ray and his wife on those posts.”
Allen asked the court to stop Coleman from “cyber-stalking.” It was not clear if Coleman has an attorney, and a working phone number for him could not be found.
“Ray regrets ever engaging with this person online and is thankful they never met in person,” Markus said. “This experience has negatively impacted Ray, and he hopes that others might use his mistake to learn the dangers of communicating online with strangers.”
you know what i loved reading this?
how in one line it says:
“…pretending to be a number of attractive vixens…”
but in another,
highlights how ray is VERY married.
does his wife even give a fuck?
well according to tmz,
this was a full blown alleged gay relationship.
get the popcorn…
The man who obtained a restraining order against Ray Allen says he was NOT catfishing the NBA star — the two were in a romantic relationship … but Ray’s attorney tells TMZ Sports the man is lying.
As we previously reported, Allen is in a legal war with Bryant Coleman — a staffer in the communications dept. at the University of Central Florida.
Coleman says Allen’s allegations that he pretended to be a woman to obtain “private information” about Ray are false.
The truth, according to Coleman, is that Allen offered up info — along with pictures and videos — knowing full well that Coleman is a man. He says their relationship goes back several years.
“[Ray’s] account of our relationship is false,” Coleman says in a statement to TMZ Sports.
“Ray knows how I look, he knows how my voice sounds, he knows how I think, and most importantly, he knows my heart.”
“However, because of confidentially considerations, I am not in a position to provide a more detailed response to Mr. Allen’s false and salacious claims. I will rely on the courts to protect me against Mr. Allen’s violent threats and false accusations.”
The exact nature of the alleged “violent threats” is unclear, but as we previously reported … Coleman obtained a restraining order, claiming Allen was stalking him.
We reached out to Allen’s legal team for comment and his attorney shot down Coleman’s claims.
“Mr. Coleman’s statement would be funny if it wasn’t so crazy,” Ray’s lawyer tells us.
“There has never been and never will be a relationship or friendship between Ray Allen and Mr. Coleman. They have never met and never have spoken.”
“Ray obviously hasn’t threatened anyone. Any statement or inference otherwise is a complete fabrication. Ray wants nothing to do with Mr. Coleman, who obviously has some serious issues with understanding the difference between fact and fantasy.”
i ate all my popcorn.
this story is wild.
you’d be surprised how a public figure can stalk you.
it can happen.
if you got that good good,
or they get drawn into you emotionally,
it can be a situation of hurt egos.
i kinda believe both sides actually.
in my head,
and this is all alleged,
but it could have started off as a catfish situation.
the catfisher got caught,
and might have gone beyond that.
the “ship” could have ended bad and now the mud slinging begun.
if he releases the alleged videos and messages,
and it proves that ray is lying,
here goes hell come.
as we have learned with these stories in the foxhole:
The truth is stranger than fiction and bisexuality is real.
lowkey: if ray allegedly is,
i’d glady take a seat on those lips of his.
i been wanting to test those out for a while now.
