not all ghosts are dead

i’ll never forget someone telling me about people who perished in 9/11.
they said that many of those people probably don’t even know they have died,
so there spirits are stuck in a loop,
repeating that day over and over.
that is why there a heavy energy down there.
its literally an open graveyard.

who knows if we are walking by actual people or ghosts.
never forget.

when people say a house is haunted,
that means the spirit in the house hasn’t been released.

that is why i learned there is no reason to be scared of it/them.
we need to let it know its safe to move forward and be free.

follow me to where i’m leading with this.

earlier today,
i was talking with fancy and she mentioned negative self talk.
she said that its like

something we heard from the past,
maybe from a parent or bully,
that is trapped within our spirits.

…and i responded:

“it’s like a ghost trapped within ourselves.
it will continue to haunt us until we heal and we release it.”

we all have ghosts that haunt us from:

abuse from parents/family members
toxic relationships with people we thought were down for us
idiot DL/curious males who became obsessions

…that we haven’t freed ourselves from yet.
it would explain why some of us are:

anger
bitterness
isolation

anxiety
lash out at innocent people
“hurt people; hurt people”

all it takes it something to channel it and here we go,
tormenting other people because we can’t get our shit together.

it made me think about ghost stories.
maybe ghosts aren’t always spirits of the dead.
maybe they’re horrible memories that refuse to leave.
we let them haunt us because we got comfortable with them.

things people said to us when we were young
moments that embarrassed us
betrayals that cracked something inside

“it’s just who i am!”
is it thooooooooo?
those ghosts sit quietly in our minds,
waiting,
and when something triggers them

maybe that’s what healing really is.
not pretending the ghosts never existed but

…finally confronting them,
opening the door,
and letting them leave.

lowkey: so many of us are walking around here haunted AF.
