Michael Sam Wants One More Shot For The Throne

Screen Shot 2016-01-30 at 2.45.19 PMwell he is determined,
isn’t he?
michael sam is trying to get back into the nfl.
i guess dancing with the stars didn’t call him back for the tour?
either way,
this is what the ny daily news had to say via a foxholer…

The first openly gay man drafted into the NFL says he will try one more time to achieve his real goal — becoming a regular season player.

Michael Sam, who came out before being drafted by the St. Louis Rams in 2014, responded to a Twitter query about his future by saying that he is “going to give it one more shot.”

The 26-year-old defensive end’s career with future Los Angeles team featured strong performances in the preseason, but he was ultimately let go before the real campaign.

A brief run with the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad also fizzled, and the native Texan traded in his pads for the pageantry of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Sam began this season with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, but left the team in August, citing concerns with his mental health.

He had been invited to the NFL veteran combine before his journey north last year, but was not offered a contract by any American team.

Are we ready for a Michael Sam comeback?

  1. I have been told that its never too late to achieve your dreams. If things happened different in the past, he probably would be on a team but the past is the past. I support him on going for what he really wants. There are allot of us out there who don’t attempt to even try. I truly believe in supporting people who wants to succeed.

  2. Never say never but it’s going to be hard, I say that he stay away from the press first and just train his body beyond the limit. He keeps talking about wanting to play but from what I’ve heard and seen he’s not at the top of his game and I think a part of him knew that.

  3. I’m going against the grain with this one:

I think if he goes into obscurity for at least several years, and separates himself from the LGBT orgs, the there is a 10% chance that some desperately terrible team might give him a call.

But his association with those orgs are his bread and butter, so naaaaahhhhhh…..

I really hope he can find some peace though.
