Look Who They Out Here Trying To Cast As Storm

3879590-storm-1-how-80s-can-the-x-men-go-michael-jackson-a-mutantwhen i think of x men’s “storm”,
i think of a strong black vixen.
a natural black vixen.

Storm (real name Ororo Munroe[4]) is a fictional superhero who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, as well as in a number of movie, television, and video game adaptations; typically in fiction related to the X-Men. The character first appeared in the comic book Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975),[5] and was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum.

Storm is a member of a fictional subspecies of humanity known as “mutants”, who are born with superhuman abilities. Storm can control the weather. Storm is a member of the X-Men, a group of mutant heroes who fight for peace and equality between mutants and humans.

In Uncanny X-Men #102 (December 1976), Claremont established Storm’s backstory. Ororo’s mother, N’Dare, was the princess of a tribe in Kenya and descended from a long line of African witch-priestesses with white hair, blue eyes, and a natural gift for sorcery. N’Dare falls in love with and marries American photojournalist David Munroe. They move to Harlem in uptown New York City, where Ororo is born. They later moved to Egypt and lived there until they die during the Suez Crisis in a botched aircraft attack, leaving six-year-old Ororo as an orphan. Her violent claustrophobia is established as a result of being buried under tons of rubble after that attack. She becomes a skilled thief in Cairo under the benign Achmed el-Gibar and wanders into the Serengeti as a young woman. She is worshiped as a goddess when her powers appear before being recruited by Professor X for the X-Men.[8]

so angela bassett was one of my first “in my mind” choices.
well when she turned down the role in the movie,
we got stuck with halle berry.
i love halle but she didn’t do the role justice at all.
well now they are casting for young storm for “x men apocalypse”.
according to the latino review,
look at the two choices…

For Young Storm the contenders being mentioned for the first time are Alexandra Shipp and  Zendaya Coleman. Alexandra played Aaliyah recently in Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B and will next be seen in Straight Outta Compton. Zendaya has a background in television with shows like Shake It Up, Zapped, and K.C Undercover.

  1. It doesn’t matter who’s cast as Storm, if she’s underwritten, you’ll be bitching about her just like you did Halle. Halle could never have made the character any better, after fighting with Singer, the studio and the writers for years.

The story has to be there for her to be good.

  2. UMM…HELL NO..STORM was from AFRICA…she was a tall, dark beauty like an amazon and they got these chicks in the lead what next they’re going to put black face on them…I’m the fuck over hollywood i just can’t anymore…and yes i HATED ROGUE on the movies mainly because she was my fav cartoon character with body, that southern accent and her sass…but the movie version was diminished

  3. I thought they were casting Kat Graham from The Vampire Diaries?!

She’d be a better choice than either of those you mentioned!

I don’t think they really did any of the Xmen characters Justice except for Wolverine because he was the cash cow.

You guys heard about Viola Davis playing Amanda Waller in The Suicide Squad?! Perfect!

  4. You’re not the only one who didn’t like Rogue’s casting. I wanted the Southern Belle brawler from the cartoon. Rogue didn’t do anything noteworthy in the movies. And the actress that plays her has a Michael Sam looking mouth. I also agree with Christian. Everyone who makes these comic-book adaptation films are not fans of the original. Michael Bay proved he wasn’t a fan of Transformers when he said human romance was needed or else it’d only be about a bunch of robots fighting each other. No shit! That’s why it’s called Transformers idiot! If I wanted to see the same cliche romance story-lines I’d watch a lifetime movie. His comment pissed me off and I never even watched the original Transformers cartoons. I did know one thing. It was about robots fighting each other. Hollywood is so afraid to branch out. We got some great movies in the past because people were willing to try something different. That’s why everyone loved the Matrix tho it did try way too hard to be deep.

As for the casting speculation of Storm. Do they really want to cast two Disney actresses? Halle was okay. Storm was missing her black woman fierceness(and African accent) but I could deal because every character in the films was a watered down version of their animated self. But come on now. This has to be some type of joke. Are these two girls the only young women of color in Hollywood acting at the moment? This reminds me of the casting for the upcoming Jem movie. Jem was a cartoon in the 80’s about singing girl group that included a black girl. They made sure you could tell she was black by giving her brown skin and curly hair. In the upcoming movie tho. Looks like they cast Alexandria Shipp. And if that’s not her, they look really similar. Don’t even get me started on them casting that Afro-Latina girl as the black Bratz doll in the Bratz movie. I heard it was a horrible movie but damn! You’d think there aren’t any black females that can act and/or sing in Hollywood. I guess Keke Palmer retired.

    1. I feel you on the Jem casting, I guess Hollywood just wants to drain any good thing about out childhoods

  5. First of all, those two girls wouldn’t look good with white hair. It would be Lupita to play Storm plus they’re both from Kenya (I think).

  6. Yeaaa… No and No!!! Personally I always thought Naomi Campbell would have made a good Storm with some acting lessons but definitely not these two girls I hope this is a joke and the fans get Mr. Singer together

  7. Smh. Do casting directors even look at the comics for references? I feel that everyone was cast perfectly except for Storm and Rogue. And Jackman can certainly get it.

  8. Hellllllll no I’m sorry but this isn’t going to work. Why does every proud Dark skin woman have to be played by light skin women as if it counts. First Nina Simone now my favorite x-man (besides Jean grey)

      1. ^Thank you!! These writers and directors are FAKE ass fans! Storm is a beautiful chocolate woman…not these mocha bitches they keep looking for!! LMAO
