Jussie Smollett Doesn’t Live In A Closet

Screen Shot 2015-03-09 at 6.47.59 PMgod i love jussie…
okay so jussie smollett,
aka jamal from empire,
wants you to know he owns a closet.
he just doesn’t live inside it and doesn’t need to explain whats in it.
well he appeared on ellen today to personally tell her,
and us,
something everyone has been whispering about

just by doing that,
he became incredibly hot.

tumblr_lrbg5uqtE81r1rec6o1_500honestly i loved how he handled it.
we don’t owe an explanation to our sexualities.
i know i don’t.
i am private and i like to keep it that way.
well the foxhole and my close people get the exclusive rights.
i feel like he just doesn’t want the pressure of being “out the closet”.
nothing wrong with that.
even if people can “tell”,
he can still be as private as he wants.
he is still living his truth and that’s all that matters.
so now with jussie’s revelation:

Does this mean he is discreet?

  1. I compare his stance to Queen Latifah. She won’t discuss her love life but she isn’t hiding in a closet. We see pictures of her with various girlfriends showing PDA on vacation. I don’t feel t is necessary in 2015 to do a ” I am Gay” People Magazine cover a la Clay Aiken or Lance Bass.

Live your life and be honest with the people you are dating is my only request.
I still haven’t the Skinny. Were all the lead actors in that movie gay because I don’t think all the leads in Noah’s Arc were gay.I just watched DL Chronicles and several of those guys are straight.Straight actors can play gay just like gay actors can play straight.

      facts.

  2. If he did come out, he’d always be known as that “gay” dude so I’m glad he did it this way too. Other gays need to stop with the press conferences.

  3. I am so glad that he took his stance and held his position. Regardless of what an individual do or does is no ones business. People speculate so much that it is un called for. What ever one chooses to do within their own private place is that persons business. People in general need to keep their nose out of other business point blank!!

  4. I see the relevance in coming out publicly as a celebrity. Celebs are placed on pedestals, whether they like it or not. If acknowledging your sexuality publicly can help save someones life, then I think its worth it. Of course it’s your totally your choice in how you handle it. Whether in an open letter, on the cover of People, or in a backstage interview with Ellen, it’s all indispensable.

  5. Society acts like being gay is something new still. Its like the rare thing. Gay is everywhere!. Why must he announce it to the public? Its sad that his sexuality is the biggest thing on about the show, when in fact the show is beyond big in many aspects. Ugh lol

  6. But…he’s still on national tv discussing it. Then the record deal was announced in the midst of all of this…

You know I have a new found respect for Lesbians. Not the fake ones, but the real ones. The ones stacking paper, at the top of their career fields, nice home life. Even the ones in the entertainment industry simply acknowledge their sexuality and keep it moving. They don’t make it into some news cycle and spin it into a career. Even Ellen doesn’t address her sexuality or make it the center of her career.

Its kind of mystifying gay men learned anything from lesbians. I’m not saying they’re perfect or they lead perfect lives but they far more evolved and well adjusted. Maybe that’s proof women are smarter?

In any event, I’ve always been not completely for gays adopting but after some observations and experiences I think two women would make great parents now.

  7. I was feeling Mr. Smollet, after checking out The Skinny, I think he is a fine representation of a Man. Closets are for clothes! I may not be shouting from the roof tops, but I am not hiding in no closet. We all will have to take a stand one day! When that day comes, stand tall and own who you are!! Don’t have no shame in your game!! Hat’s off to Mr. Smollet!!

"off topic" and other nonsense gets sent to my spam folder. other than that, play nice and let's discuss!
