this is the one thing they don’t warn you about with a puppy.
it was saturday night,
around 9pm or later,
and i stepped out right quick for to talk privately on the phone.
i was probably out in the hallway for an hour or so.
i come back in and the puppy to’ my laptop charger to shreds.
^ that was the outcome above.
when i font you…
…i had to step back out to cool down?
i ended up talking to a friend for over 3 hours.
i calmed down because it’s a teething puppy doing what teething puppy’s do.
what really got me vex was:
no one was paying attention when the puppy wandered over to my space.
when i’m alone with the puppy,
i am watching it like a hawk.
when it’s too quiet,
i’m making sure it ain’t tearing up anything,
shitting or peeing on anything,
or getting into anything important.
like right now,
she is under my bed sleep.
i can see her ear peeking out from under the bed.
it’s like a kid.
you not gonna let a kid run wild because next thing you know,
its found a fork and trying to play “minecraft” with a plug socket.
that is the part that frustrated me the most.
i make sure the puppy isn’t getting into shit when i’m alone,
but i felt like i didn’t get the same grace.
…and the excuse of “aww, it’s a puppy” in that moment really irked me.

anyhoo,
the friend i was on the phone with replaced my cord yesterday.
it was my fault for underestimating the puppy,
even though i’ve had that cord in the same place and it was ignored.
so going forward:
everything is on a higher surface,
even i’m stepping away for 2 seconds.
it was my fault for forgetting “aww, it’s a puppy“.
