RIHANNA IS FIRST ARTIST TO CROSS 100 MILLION SONG CERTIFICATIONS, BECOMES RIAA’S TOP AWARDED SINGLES ARTIST

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) today announced that Rihanna has surpassed more than 100 million Gold & Platinum song certifications, elevating her to number one on RIAA’s list of artists with the most Digital Single Awards and making her the first and only artist to surpass RIAA’s 100 million cumulative singles award threshold.

Encompassing a range of songs from an extraordinarily successful career, Rihanna today claimed 48 million new RIAA Digital Single Certifications, which count download sales and on-demand streams in the United States.

“Gold & Platinum is the industry’s premier way to celebrate achievement in the marketplace,” said Cary Sherman, Chairman & CEO, RIAA.  “We’ve given awards to artists for nearly 60 years, but it’s rare that we have the opportunity to recognize a milestone like the one Rihanna has reached.  Congratulations to Rihanna!  She has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so.  It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”

Rihanna’s Westbury Road Entertainment LLC/Roc Nation/Def Jam career song certifications span 37 separate titles released during her decade of music making, and include a 9X multi-Platinum award for “We Found Love,” 6X multi-Platinums for “Stay,” “What’s My Name” and “Only Girl (In The World),” plus a 2X multi-Platinum for new song “FourFiveSeconds,” a Platinum for “Bitch Better Have My Money” and many more.

  1. Can’t hate. She’s definitely has proven herself to be an icon.

About the video, it was very ambitious but I was not very entertained.

  2. As much as I don’t care for this particular song, I’m happy for her to get the recognition!
I pegged her as a one-hit wonder when Pon De Replay was out…MAN was I wrong!!
She has had some decent songs through the span of her career. My favorite, Skin! That shyt is hot!! LOL

  3. I am very proud and happy for her! If someone has to do it, it may as well be one of us. (No shade).

  4. I’m happy for her success. It’s good to see Black people dominating the industry. However that BBHMM song/video is still garbage.

  5. If you had to make a list of the top 10 iconic female acts half if not most would be black on that list! Congrats to Riri, I’m still waiting on that album though.

  6. If you would’ve told me in 05 that Rihanna would’ve been doing this i probably wouldn’t have believed you.
    She proved me wrong.

  7. RiRi and King Bey run this damn industry….they better bow down to the black Queens…i’m proud of her and she’s still young and has a future ahead of her…i love how she gave GOD props as well….now watch the illuminati theorists say she was talking about the devil bahahaha lol
