who is ready for the “b-boy blues” trailer? (yup, we are)

i’ve been waiting for the trailer for “b-boy blues“,
the book from james earl hardy,
to drop.
oh hey,
thomas mackie…

i’m always excited to watch stuff about black gay love.
we are seeing so much black straight love stories these days,
i’m really happy to see stories about the way we love.
the foxhole hit me up once the trailer was released and…

omg…
look at all this beautiful melanin up in this trailer.

i love how this shot too.
i’m such a big fan of how programs featuring black stories are shot these days.
i don’t know if it’s the camera or the filter being used but it gives life.

Shout out to all the camera crews,
editors,
and everyone behind the scenes to make these creations come alive.

these are the people behind this project:

Frank Gatson- Co-executive producer
James Earl Hardy- Executive producer
Madia Hill Scott- Producer
Sampson McCormick- Co-executive producer
April Qualls- Associate producer
Jussie Smollett- Producer
Tom Wilson- Executive producer
Cinematography by Joe ‘Jody’ Williams.
Trailer Edited by 55Media.

these types of films keep me open to the possibility of finding love.
it’s easy to find sex in this hopeless place,
but when you find someone who sees and loves you
without wanting to be in an open relationship
that is a big story.

  1. I am so excited for this…Heather B, Ledisi, Brynt, the legendary first book of the series. If the movie keeps the promise of the trailer, perhaps it might be Jussie’s redemption song. I read all the books and I’m interested to know how they created the script. Hope a major streamer picks it up but in the meantime I will check out ABFF for this and other films of interest!

  2. What’s great for me is that I just recently read the book, need to get and finally read the rest of the series, so I’m a lot more hype to get into watching this.

  3. I loved the book (and James Earl Hardy’s other books). They were Black gay staples in the 1990s. I hope this film captures the spirit, whether it’s set in the 1990s or updated for today. We need more Black gay stories on screen. Props to all the people who made it happen too.

    1. I’m hoping this does well. Both the actors ice seen on other projects and their acting is abysmal but their hot so maybe that might be enough to carry it. I doneant it to go far though because maybe then we’ll have more stories that center black queer folks
