they are dragging joker 2 so hard

I haven’t seen a DC movie get dragged this hard since Batman V Superman.

the trailer for joker 2 looked so promising too:

when i think of a joker and harley quinn collab,
because he is my fav super villain and she is my fav anti-hero,
my mind goes straight to pure chaos in gotham.

absolute circus of chaos.
imagine my Foxhole edit of this second installment coming out this week…

After the events of the first Joker, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is locked away in Arkham Asylum, where he meets Harley (played by Lady Gaga) as his psychiatrist. She gets totally enchanted by him, helps him escape, and they go full Natural Born Killers. Batman gets introduced and he swoops in and foils their plans. Harley ends up dying in this universe, pushing Joker to an even darker place of murder and mayhem. Even if Batman isn’t in it, she can die by the hands of the police. They can play around with the idea if he dies or not, since Joker has no background and can be anyone.

…but nope,
that’s not the direction that todd phillips decided to take.
i shoulda known fuckery was afoot with “folie à deux” in the title.
todd thought it was genius to set the sequel in a courtroom,
make it a musical,
and pretty much destroy everything that made the first film great.

…and let’s not forget the almost 3-hour runtime.

seriously,
who keeps telling these people that musicals are what we want?

i saw this scene isn’t even in the movie either:

like wtfffffff?
the endless reviews about how horrible and boring it is confirmed my worst fears.
as much as i love joker and harley’s antics,
i’ll be saving my coins on this one and waiting until it’s on hbo max.
on a positive:

I do enjoy the soundtrack from Lady Gaga.

i love this kind of old school shit.

lowkey: if they don’t make harley a figment of his twisted imagination in this,
they really they the baby out with the bathwater.
