…and i’m lost.
i took a wrong turn at “confused” blvd.
so it was just her walking around her house?
i assume she couldn’t sleep.
i thought the concept would be in j cole’s eyes,
but he was sitting on the couch.
when she passed by that same couch,
he wasn’t there before.
was he in the bathroom?
then the magnifying glass scene and the “15 j coles” on the stairsM-Fox-megan-fox-28866406-500-270

this era is starting off weird janet.
whats happening?
i still love the song tho.

lowkey: maybe her next video will be exciting?

  1. Janet is an ICON, LEGEND, married to a handsome billionaire, she’s established has nothing else to prove and she’s like zero fucks are given i’m doing me lol..this is my first time hearing the song in it’s entirety…the video fits the song it’s laid back and i like the fact that it’s different…she’s not trying to show skin like that retiree Madonna…she’s just flowing and enjoying herself….this is definitely a ‘say yes’ floetry type song…i could definitely see Marsha singing this i wonder if she wrote it? anyways it was okay and J.cole is so underrated as an artist he’s definitely talented and still a cutie!!!

  2. I liked it! I don’t think it’s “changing the game” or anything like that but its a nice chill vibe. One could make the argument that in some way she was singing about reuniting with Michael and they would get “no sleep” because they were just going to chill and catch up all night. It hit me when there was a picture of her father and her, but regardless of what its about, I liked the chill vibe to it. It’s very “Janet” to me.

  3. I can dig this video! I LOVE it! It’s so lad back. Sensual, grown, and sexy. J. Cole added that special touch. After watching the video, I bought the single on iTunes. So you know it’s real..

  4. I love it.. This is was seperates her from all the new girls.. They have to come back with some over the top video. This video was so laid back just like the song. I love the images of her as a child like she was missing that part of her life, and the sexy smiles letting you know who else she was missing and it wasn’t J Cole

  5. When I first heard the song, I knew this is the type of video she was gonna give. She’s older and married. Its standard Janet Jackson fare

  6. I can’t quite figure out why the dancing girls (Janet, Ciara) insist on mid tempo lead singles over the past several years. . It’s like they’re refusing to dance. After being absent for so long from the industry, it’s not exactly the sleepy, laid back vibe I expected her to lead off this era with. ” Thats The Way Love Goes” worked because her whole looked was revamped. The weight loss, the hair, the music. The Janet era was the complete antithesis of Rhythm Nation. I love ” No Sleep” but it would have been better as maybe a third single. Sorry but the video was “yawn” for me. Janet is pretty and always gives a hint of tomboy, but to me her styling was very off. It all gave me Chaka Khan teas. The anticipation for this era is high, hopefully she’ll come with it next single.

  7. ‘It’s Janet Miss Jackson if you’re nasty.’ Janet can do no wrong in my eyes I love her. I feel the video and the song went well together and she surprised us with J Cole. I cannot believe next year will be 30 years since she released Control. Janet is 49 and still can pull off a two hour show of her great song and dance catalog. I honestly think that through the 80s and 90s Janet and Whitney both set the tone. I’m not saying they weren’t any other great female singers around that time but those two were the prototype. They always came through and shut the stage down. I miss Whitney, glad to see Janet return to music industry.

  8. That video is PLUSH. Laid back neo type of feel. LOVE the J Cole segment when he splits into 4-5 versions of himself w/ the highly questionable dread twists.
But….what impressed me the most is how regal, elegant, sensual, and NATURALLY Janet she looked in this video.
In an era of raunch (that I love but still understand its influence on young ppl) this is so tame its actually groundbreaking.

  9. Totally disagree with your assesment, Jamari, I love the video and think it fits the lyrics and vibe well. Being the same age as Janet, I think she’s finding a mature and sensual way to approach the next phase of both life and music. Unlike Madonna’s dried-out ass still trying to act all 1984 girlie and “Borderline” even as AARP floods her mailbox with senior coupon specials, Janet shows in the new song and video she knows the difference between being youthful and being childish. While I think she (and I!) still have many miles to go, if she started busting out some “Pleasure Principle” moves these days, I’d be giving some serious side-eye!

  10. it kinda makes me think of “That’s the Way Love Goes” there wasn’t really any point to the video other then the people jammin to it

    1. Nailed it. it was visually luscious…classic Janet. I’ve been with Janet since her first, first album, LOL.

Those of us who love us some Janet can ease into this return; she’s married to a Muslim man and lives in a Muslim country, so she has to balance with with artistic expression.

      Rock on!

  11. I love the video its so artistic! the song tho it will grow on me but its a dope video

    1. Very sophisticated with many layers of story…adds some depth to the song. Love what Miss Janet is giving

  12. For some strange reason this video felt dated like 2006 – 2007 use to me. The song is great but I’m going to need stronger visuals.

  13. It would’ve been nice to see her do a little bit of dancing, other than the move she busted out on the stairs.
It was a “safe” video, which I think we will be getting more of since she’s married to the Arab guy now. If that’s the case, we might be in trouble with the more visual Janet we’re used to.
WTF is up with J Cole lookin like he homeless and needs a bath?! That untamed hair look has got to go!
