how about you mind your business?

back in like the mid 2000s,
there was a she-jackal that i desperately wanted to impress.
one day,
she invited all our mutual friends to a party at her crib…
but me.
i was hurt AF when i saw their pictures,
having fun in their corny poses,
and it auto unlocked my trauma.

Sidebar: If we are friends and someone invited me out,
but didn’t invite you,

I’m not going.
My “friend” I knew longer went proudly without me.
Years later,
I got to understand why we aren’t friends now.

anyway,
so what i did:

I tried my hardest to get her to like me!
I wanted her to see me in a positive light!
Pick me!
Pick me!

one day,
we were all on this massive phone call.
it was like 8 people.
the 4 who went to her shindig,
her,
me,
and 2 of my people.
she was bawling over some ain’t shit jackal she was dating.
birds of a feather?
everyone was silent on the call while she was ugly crying.
here i go,
trying to comfort her and let her know it’s okay

Well the fuckin’ bitch snapped at me.

“DON’T TELL ME ITS GOING TO BE OKAY!
IT’S NOT GOING TO BE OKAY!”

you could have heard a mouse pissin’ in an alley.
after the call,
i was confused but everyone was on the same page with her.
they knew her more than i knew her.

“You were doing too much.
This is who she is and we let her have her moment.”

they blamed me for her reaction towards me but i get it now.
i understand now.
even though they were all fuckin’ idiots,
i learned something about life that day:

There are certain things that are going on that don’t require our opinion.
It pays to mind our business and stay neutral.
They are going to blame US for getting involved.

there are certain issues happening that we need to stay out of.
posting opinions,
memes,
and whatever on our social media platforms will not do anything.

Many black folks like to jump into certain issues that others races have learned to stay out of.

we end up being the villain rather than the hero we crave to be.
( x this person is a great example )

in my situation,
that fuckin’ bitch didn’t like me from the jump.
she would have stayed silent if it was me in her situation.
there is a message in what i just wrote.
find it.

lowkey: it brought me great joy as she got dog walked in that relationship.
she got humbled a bit.
