“smile.
make sure its not crooked.
hold my hand.
i need this to be perfect.
we need people to believe this.
most importantly…
i need to believe this…“
i use to believe the filter on pictures.
while it tends to make a picture look great,
the un-edited shot is usually the most truthful.
thats the one brings the most beauty…
perfectionism is ugly.
i’m figuring that out as i go along in my journey.
with any great production,
there needs to be drama.
nothing is truly perfect behind the lens.
there is a story that isn’t being fully told.
there is a story that wants to be believed.
when i see these pictures of these “happy couples”,
the ones that broadcast their “love” to an audience,
i’m going to start to ask myself:
whats behind the UN-filtered image?
the one that happens once the camera is away.
like my home-vixen,
she is putting on a great show with her situationship.
every time she puts a picture up with “him”,
she gets the applause and the admiration.
vixens want what she has.
i did at one point.
well little do they know,
and myself before,
that she is playing the perfect role.
why tell the truth when living a lie can be so much better?
i guess its like a high.
well…
At what point do you stop being high…
and start being all the way real?
hmm.
its a shame we are all actors on social media.
smile and take it all in.
It true, it true. My mom’s sister kinda does this, but with traveling, and write bullshit about how wonderful her travels were meanwhile telling my mom all the nasty, horrible time she’s having. I don’t get what with all the filters, but okay as long it ain’t me
Maybe it’s because I’m single but my ig is mostly pics of the following food is ate, drinks I drunk, or funny selfies. Nothing to lie about lol
Sad to say I know 3 couples who are always on facebook saying they couldn’t imagine life without the bae but tell me in person or in text that they can’t stand their significant other. They also all have children. I feel like if it wasn’t for the kids, most of them would dump their s/o in a heartbeat and never look back.
It must so exhausting to always keep up a front, perpetuate a fraud. It isn’t for me. Honest happiness is more important than momentary adulation.
Oh yeah I think it’s funny how you used mariah a person who’s known for heavily retouching images. *no shade* Am I making sense?
put the blunt down J! lol jk 🙂 sometimes saving [your] face is therapy. People play out situations until time has run its course. better to look involved and happy than to look single and in despair (i guess)… GN!
^love this answer!
night!
