This Is What I “Had” Heard About You (Rumors)

largei believe rumors are started from four key ingredients:

truth
lies
hurt
the obvious

i’ll tell you how

so lets sayyyyyyyyyyyyy…
the rumor about you is that you’re gay.
okay cool.
now you can be as masculine as hell and someone will think you’re gay.
‘masculine” is not immune to the gay rumor.
anyway so the “truth” is,
you are actually gay.
you might be bi.
hell you might be curious.
you have had some kind of “something” with the same sex.
you know this.
i know this.
hell you read the foxhole.
something you did tipped someone off about your sexuality.
it could be the the secrecy about your past/current relationships,
it could just be “you”,
or it could be the fact you’re dating a vixen and real sloppy out here.
like…
your drawz always got blood in them.
ain’t no amount of hemorrhoids in the world…

giphy-1…then next is the “lies”.
in order for a rumor to really pop,
it needs some kind of story to push it.
its boring to just be gay.
its more interesting if you were allegedly “caught” fucking someone.
wait no!
the “someone who knows someone that knows you…” crap.
you know that’s always believable.
/endsarcasm

giphysome people create rumors because you “hurt” them in some way.
maybe you knew the person and they didn’t like how “it” ended.
the best ones are from the people who don’t know you.
i love those ones.
whatever you did to some random dumbass,
they are really fuckin’ upset with you.
like can you get to know me and then hate me?
sheesh!
it causes them to try and ruin your reputation in some way.
remember: “hurt people hurt people”.

giphy-2lastly,
we have “the obvious”.
sometimes its just really a matter of “duh”.
like the rumors doesn’t get far because its actually not hard to believe.

giphy-3so whether you have a nasty attitude,
you a compulsive liar,
or “youz” a hoe
someone out there will have something say.
they will swear they saw you in action or “they heard”.
you can either:

dispel the rumors
“whatever”

i personally believe in the “whatever” approach.
dispelling rumors take a lot of energy.
the way i see it,
if no one is talking then you may actually be boring.
let people believe what they want about you.
the best response is truly no response.

…well unless its hygiene.
you should always listen to those rumors.
they actually helps you high key.
nothing worse than the forests saying you got bad breath or you stinkin’.

  1. This reminds me of a rumour at work. So basically, word got out that I’m gay. People at work so far have been cool with it (in my presence that is, and as far as I know haven’t been as homophobic as I expected). There is this other guy at work that is gay as well.

There is one particular rumour that a vixen started saying he was rubbing my back and giving me a massage etc when she “barged in” on us. Another rumour is that we’re dating.

I mean he’s not a bad looking guy and all but we have vastly different tastes, mannerism and I don’t think we’d be compatible. But people think because we hang out a lot that we’re dating. The thing is, when you meet like minded people in this life and are above the fray of foolishness, you latch to them.

Mind you we’re both on par for a promotion later in the year.

  2. “your drawz always got blood in them.” Ew LMAO I got mad at you for that one.

This was on point tho, nothing but the truth.

  3. Jamari I love when you do post like this. I can definitely relate to this post, by the way is Liar Liar still trying to throw dirt on your name.

    1. ^thanks e!

she has calmed down a lot.
i still have my guard up tho.
last thing she did was i heard she was talking about me.
      nothing crazy.
it’s been too busy for me to even care about her foolishness.

      1. I’m glad you overcame and ignore her foolishness and look what you got in the process a raise at work and work wolfs heart.

  4. It is so funny that you never hear rumors in the Black gay community about Beenie Siegal, Craig Mack, Biz Markie or any other countless unattractive entertainers, only the Trey Songz, August Alsina, and Chris Browns. I think a lot of these rumors about these dudes come from fantasy and wishing. It is like many time with gay dudes, they will not let a rumor go if they believe an attractive Str8 man messes around. Many times you can hang around someone who has a less than stellar reputation and rumors will fly about you. Also when you don’t give people too much, they start making up things about you to fit how they think you are. We are probably all guilty of saying things that we really don’t know about, but just assuming and speculating. I know with Black gays, if you start to lose weight or suffer from an illness that may have nothing to do with HIV, the rumors start flying. It has gotten better, but dudes who use to actually be sick back in the day did not stand a chance and many stop coming out and enjoying life because of the hurtful looks and the whispers. So many people want to play Detective with others lives, they want to find out everything about you. It is really bad in this celebrity obsessed social media world. When I turned off the TV and started getting into health and fitness, and concentrated on changing myself, I found that I could no longer even look at reality shows about non celebrities or washed up celebs, because I was like these people are no different from me, it is nothing that stands out about them that make them interesting to me. Why worry about someone else’s life and start living your own. I love to hang out and party with friends as well as work out at the gym, so I see enough interesting people in the real world not to be worrying about those on TV and social media. Gossip can be entertaining but after a while, I am like who cares. The attentionista’s are funny at times an its comical to see them get there just desserts some time, but like the thing with Mr. Cure, that’s when it can cross the line and get ugly, even if it is true, that was a tacky way to do it, but that is the price you pay being attractive and in the spotlight. You have to have thick skin and brush things off in life because I come to learn that people are going to lie on you no matter how good of a person you might be especially miserable people when they see you are happy and living life.

    1. Tajan, boy you are speaking the truth here. My sexuality has always been on the brains of some family members, people in the church, and I say to myself why does my sexuality matter to you’ll. Some of them have the most screwed up lives that they have to focus on others short comings to make them feel good about themselves.

      1. ^you want to know the secret of celebs?

they play up on the rumors.
they don’t confirm or deny anything.
we sit and try to break down everything they do.
        that’s the power of pr.
you let the audience create what they want with what they think you are giving them.

it’s fun when you get the hang of it.
seem completely unbothered and nothing can really stick.

      2. I bet that if you confirm those rumors, setting aside the support or lack thereof, they are bitch “keep that shit in your bedrooms, ” but are gonna obsessively talk about the intercourse that you are or aren’t having without explicitly mentioning it to them.

  5. I hate how the straights love to play the “keep that shit to yourself” card but are very gleeful to test their gaydar if the opportunity presents itself. Like sit the fuck down somewhere.

It’s a peeve that has been swimming my mind for the last few days.

  6. Speaking of rumors, Industry on Blast just posted an apology to Travis Cure regarding their Herpes story from his alleged ex girlfriend. They rarely apologize so I guess he must have threatened legal action.

  7. You are speaking about my life in H.S. when these two football players were spreading rumors about me hitting on them which was a fucking lie because one of the football player is an uglyass nigga, so hideous that I was offended big time. Yes I am gay which is the truth. And the hurt thing is falso I never spoke to these football players, but they would stare at me in the cafeteria a lot. My instinct were telling me that they were attracted to me which is the obvious.

"off topic" and other nonsense gets sent to my spam folder. other than that, play nice and let's discuss!
