jussie smollett had me thinking about him over the weekend.
i had two thoughts.
1. Will this little snag of a court case fuck up the release of “B-Boy Blues”?
i wish he was a “hidden” investor because God forbid this trial takes a left.
i wish he would have paid the fines and moved on.
jussie wants to fight for his innocence tho.
the other thought was opinions i saw on the foxhole and on socials.
some folks believe:
“Well,
white people lie all the time.
They don’t get in trouble for it so I’m with Jussie.”
there is a problem with that thinking…
that kind of sentence proves the person doesn’t believe jussie at all.
let’s font that jussie lied about this whole thing.
i’m not fonting that he is lying but let’s say he is.
the issue that i’m wondering about is with future race and even hate crimes.
if it isn’t recorded,
the racists and coon jackals will say:
“Well…
how do we know such and such isn’t lying?
That actor (or insert “n” word here) from that show lied about his attack.
How do we know this person is telling the truth?”
you know now people won’t get justice if they are genuinely in some shit.
What if you’re attacked and since there is no footage,
since this nonsense becomes the excuse that racists can use,
no one wants to believe or help you?
What if it was one of your family members?
Your man?
Me?
not only that,
if you are gonna stand with someone who might have lied:
Stand with other black criminals as well.
According to the IG page Coalition for Jussie, detectives assigned to Jussie’s case have more than 560 misconduct cases, have been sued 16 times, resulting in $7 million paid to victims. One of the detectives,Richard Hagen was sued for covering up the murder of Laquan McDonald case by Jason Van Dyke. The judge didn’t allow any of this to be brought up at the trial.
I read about some these misconduct cases back in 2019/2020,about them lying, coercing witnesses to lie, making racist, homophobic, comments etc. That coupled with reading about police misconduct and corruption in general in the Chicago PD is why I have given Jussie the benefit of the doubt.I simple don’t trust the CPD based on things I’ve read.
But anyway the case is in the hands of the jury now, so we will see what they decide.
The lesson here is, don’t underestimate the POWER of Charisma! people are usually gonna stand by people they like 🤷🏾♂️ Especially if there was no assault done to children (hurting children & the eldery are most people’s “I’m done with you” point) and being that Jussie is still a good looking, charismatic guy (a liar tho) alot of people don’t want to see anything bad happen to him, call it a flaw in human nature I guess
Right! Case in point, look how long it took for people to finally hold R. Kelly accountable. People be so hypnotized by the fame and charisma of it all.
Jussie Smolett ain’t black. His father was white and his mother black. He’s mixed race and he wants to claim that he’s black as a career move. That is, to make money! And when it comes to his trial, the evidence points strongly to his guilt.
What it means to be black
To accept the racist “one drop” theory is racist and accepts a central tenet of white supremacy, which is blackness as a taint. “Black” is not a philosophy, a club or a way of life. “Black” is a race. “African American” is an ethnic group within the black race as is Haitian, Nigerian or Kenyan. Just as Irish or Irish American is an ethnic group within the white race as is Italian, French or German.
The one-drop theory is part of the white supremacy trifecta, which has been largely successful in crippling the black mind (by indoctrination, brainwashing, conditioning, socialization): 1. White/European Jesus (AKA White Jesus), 2. White/European standards of beauty and 3. White/European invented, fostered, foisted, and imposed “one-drop” theory
Nor is being black defined by skin color. The black race has the highest rate of albinos of any race. And yes, such albinos are fully black. On the other hand, this so called “one-drop” theory that says that if you are part black, then you are black is a bunch of bull. First, it was invented by the racist white slave-owner for the benefit of the racist white slave owner for their racist purposes and not by or for the slave. And I will not have my views dictated by dead racist white slave-owners. Second, it’s racist. It’s based on the theory that black blood is a taint so much so that it taints and spoils all the other blood that is there. And that as a taint, all must be thrown in the garbage that is the black. We’re not going to co-sign on a racist theory that sees us and our ancestors as the functional equivalent of garbage. (We are not garbage and neither are our ancestors!) If you co-sign on the racist one-drop theory, then you are co-signing on racism. Third, it has no basis in reality or logic. It says foolishly—and divorced from logic: “To get more oil, just add water.” (With the black heritage being the “oil” and the anything else being the “water”) That’s foolish. At some point, if you add water to oil, it becomes watery oil and later it becomes oily water. And if you add enough water to the oil, it becomes virtually indistinguishable from plain water and will be fit to drink. At some point if you add water to oil, it becomes unable to lubricate and stops functioning as oil. The “one-drop” theory is inherently racist!
Therefore, Pan-Africanist American-African writer, historian and professor John Henrik Clark wisely said “You cannot make a good African between the legs of a European woman.” Dr. Claud Anderson came to the same conclusion saying, “If I pour water into gasoline I didn’t make it any stronger, I made it weaker.” You cannot make more “oil” by simply adding “water”. To think that you can is foolish, divorced from logic—and racist.
(Racism is the belief that one race is inferior or superior to another race. The “one-drop” theory with blacks as a taint, as garbage clearly fits into that racist scheme.)
Now, there are people who are sufficiently diluted of their black DNA that they are not black. No race of people is “pure” so having some other-than-black ancestry does not make you not black. Just like having some other-than-white ancestry does not make you not white. Certainly if your non-black DNA is equal to or equivalent to your black DNA, then you are not black. Furthermore, one’s race or ethnicity is not like a club. You either are or are not “born that way”. You can’t join it like a club. They are people—just not black people. They are humans—just not black humans. Such people include Senator Kamala Harris (who is apparently ¼ black), President Obama, Meghan Markle, Valerie Jarrett, Mariah Carey, David McIntosh, Boris Kodjoe, Shemar Moore, Halle Berry, Tiger Woods, Benjamin Jealous (former head of the NAACP who is 90% white by DNA), Melisa Harris-Perry, Jesse Williams, etc. (Halle Berry foolishly said that since she was black, her daughter is also black. Well, the fact is that Halle Berry is half-black so is biracial and that her daughter is born of a white man so is ¾ white! Such foolishness!) (And Tiger Woods is ¼ black and ½ Chinese! Yet some want to call him black! Correction: He’s mixed race!) Such people are mixed, mulatto or biracial. We oppose racism in all its forms and permutations (including the racist canard called the “one-drop” theory) and we ask you to oppose racism in all its forms and permutations too. When you know better, you do better.
Something ain’t right in all of this and I hope that if there is substance abuse/mental health issues going on that Mr. Smollett uses his resources wisely and seeks help. I hate that he has practically RIP’d his front of camera career. I, too, saw B BoyBlues the movie and thought it was good. Was/am hopeful that this will be the start of a new/positive chapter in that man’s life. I am still listening and I am willing to give him another chance if he is willing to earn it.
I see Jussie was at Operation PUSH over the weekend, and got Rev. Jesse Jackson sticking up for him. Plus he was on the stand talking about “I’m a Black man in America…”
He’s going to end up running strictly to Black entertainment industry to coddle him and co-sign his bullshit. Which is a shame, because many of us tolerate WAAAAYYY too much from our so-called “best and brightest”.
$20 says he’ll get a standing ovation at the next BET Awards!
Right! Our community was turning blind eyes and deaf ears to R. Kelly all these years knowing what horrors was being done to little black girls and boys behind closed doors. We stay getting infatuated by celebrity, especially the light, bright, and damn near white ones like Jussie, like they’re trophies. I suspect had this scandal not even happened, there would be no B-Boy Blues because this movies is just a ploy to make money for Jussie. Why was it released right around the same time of his trial? Jussie is just one of them narcissistic, clout chasing, opportunistic social climbers with a substance/mental health problem. All them yes-folks and enablers just gonna keep his head gassed up until he self-destructs. If folks really cared about Jussie, they would tell him to get some professional help before its too late. But you can only help people who don’t think they have a problem but only so much. Oh well.
The justice department just dropped all charges in the Emmett Till case. The bitch who lied on him is still breathing. Saltines have been lying for ages.
Yep, that’s mine and imma stick beside him.
Free Jussie.
On one hand, it’s not the end of the world, no one got hurt, and I still want to do sex with one or both Osundairos. On the other hand, it does make it more difficult for people who actually experience hate crimes to be believed. I know for me, my image of Jussie being this positive, bright, compassionate representation about died with that Robin Roberts interview.
That interview confirmed for me that Jussie is a narcissist and sociopath. He believes his own lie so strong that it became truth for him.
Jamari, just a note, B-Boy Blues was screen online for the ABFF and I saw it and thought it was a good movie. I hope that despite the outcome, that the movie finds a distributor and released. It was a mostly positive representation of black gay men. We need more artistic representation.
THIS N**** LIED ON MY CITY! I WANT HIS ASS UNDER THE JAIL!!!
I can understand why people would choose to side with Jussie. You have to understand that the Jussie incident happened back in January 2019, the world has radically changed since then Covid-19, Black Lives Matter protest of 2020, January 6 capital riot, Kyle Rittenhouse, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor etc.
If you recall the Jussie issue had already been resolved with Kim Fox and people took issue with how lite the punishment was, I think a fine and some community service; also remember that Jussie was/is considered a first-time offender. With the Jussie case you really are just arguing theory (what could have happened), nobody was hurt and there were essentially no damages except maybe bruised egos. Being a first time offender even if Jussie is convicted you are going to have a hard time justifying giving him any real time when you have the January 6 capitol rioters getting slaps on the wrist with little to no jail time , when people were injured and property was damaged; and I can guarantee that if Jussie gets any time that point will be made heavy on national tv. At the end of the day even if Jussie is convicted he probably should get what he was already going to do under the Kim Fox agreement.
Well I stand with Jussie and have been standing with him from the beginning.I don’t believe he would put his family, especially his mother, through this ordeal for all these years.I think he would have taken a plea deal rather than testify in front of his mother about doing coke and engaging in sex acts at a bathhouse.
A couple of years ago I’ve read about some of the Chicago PD officers and detectives that worked on this case and a few of them have been disciplined for lying, coercing suspects to lie and other misconduct. There were a couple IG pages that documented their misconduct I don’t know if they still exist.
If I’m wrong and he lied then oh well…
If people can stand by R Kelly( The Pee Hive) or Pill Cosby despite evidence of their guilt I can stand by Jussie.
I hope the trial /verdict doesn’t affect the film.
I wish he would have said, “I have a substance abuse problem,” and checked in somewhere for a few months, paid the fines and gone back to work.
^AGREEEEEEED.
this should have just vanished because people would have moved on.
Absolutely he should have just owned up to his substance abuse/mental health issues, took that L, paid his fines, and humbled himself accordingly. But nah, this man was so ambitious, narcissistic, clout chasing, power hungry, and unstably bipolar that he concocted this whole situation thinking he was gonna get public sympathy, clout, name recognition and make a name for himself as the “gay Tupac”. He wanted some Broadway role about a gay man who gets gay bashed so he manufactured this whole mess to make himself stand out for the role and to command more money at Empire since he thought “the public will stand behind me as a symbolic hero”. But, we in the Age of Aquarius and when you not living in truth and operating on a low vibration, karma comes back to you harder than ever before. That’s why all these celebs, rich and famous, and politicians getting exposed and held accountable now after YEARS, DECADES of getting away with crimes: Epstein, R. Kelly, Cosby, Cuomo, Trump (oh, he got a whole heap of karma to answer for, dont get me started on him), the criminal justice system, and many others. And btw, Jussie is a Gemini, Trump is a Gemini, and Kanye is a Gemini, and they all have similar traits in common, especially the one about cant accept accountability for their actions. So I’m not surprised Juicy Smoo-yay is doubling down on the lie he rode in on.
I feel like that would have worked.
