RIP TO REGINA KING’S SON, IAN

ya’ll…
every time that i put on this tank album…

i was doing some journaling,
listening to this tank album after having a really tiring day,
and i get this horrible news about regina king’s son via “b scott”…

Ian Alexander Jr., the son of actress/director Regina King, has passed away.

Details are scarce, but sources close to the situation exclusively tell lovebscott.com that Ian died from apparent suicide today, two days after his 26th birthday.

regina put out a statement via “people”:

“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian,” King says in a statement sent to PEOPLE. “He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”

foxhole…
so many people are suffering right now.
the emotional weight of these past two years can be too much to handle.
this is two years of shit we have been dealing with.
not only that,
all the mess in the world and our own battles in our personal lives.

It is A LOT.

after this is all done,
many of us are gonna need extensive therapy.
if you are struggling,
PLEASE reach out to someone.

DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS ALONE IF THE BURDEN IS TOO HEAVY!!!

i’m sending so much love and light to regina king.
that was her only child and he just got engaged to his boyfriend too.
please keep her,
his family,
and his fiance in your prayers ya’ll.
it’s so wild that he had so much to celebrate but he wasn’t happy.
rip to ian.

lowkey: you just never know these days.

  1. B Snott’s evil, vile ass put this story out before the family confirmed. I can’t stand his confused ass. Such a lack of empathy, just wants to always be the first.

    1. ^when i got the news,
      i thought the story broke.
i didn’t know he put it out before the family did.
regina confirmed with people shortly after the news was released.

  2. Very sad and unfortunate story. RIP to that young man.

I cosign everything you said, Jamari. I think ppl have become so complacent when it comes to ‘checking’ on others that we’ve unfortunately normalized being caught in the tug of war of needing/wanting support/an ear, and thinking ‘everyone has their own sht to deal with’.

    1. ^this is a very “needy” time we are in right now.
      in the next breath,
people are realizing their relationships/marriages/and friendships aren’t made from the right foundation and breaking up.
it is an interesting and eye opening time to be alive atm.
i pray people find the peace they are search for within themselves rather than taking their own lives.

i’d really like to know if he was suffering with depression…

      1. Many ppl aren’t ‘okay’ right now, and are still adjusting to the rugs of their realities being swept right from under their feet. Unfortunately, I don’t think our social media obsessed society is doing a good enough job letting those ppl know that it’s ok to not be ok, right now.

  3. Truly devastating…no one can imagine what Regina is going through…the trauma, the self blaming, the questioning of her role as a mom, her self doubt..oh WOW.. SMH..I really and truly hope I or anyone that I know have to go through this trauma. SMH 😔😔

  4. ❤️♥️❤️&🙏🙏🙏 for Miss King and her family. Praying for her strength to breathe in and out with ease.
My Mom’s BFF just buried a daughter who shot herself a few weeks ago. No outward signs we could see were there, but??
Rejection is a demonic MF. Rejection bears within you some very strange fruit, blood on the leaves of your ❤️. You have dig the roots up of that Spirit and cauterize that💩.
Miss Rejection will take you there like Mavis and the Staples.
These past years are rough and tough, you have to grab onto steel resolve and grow a new spine if your old one appears to be giving out. “Jamari 🦊a talk show is calling. Mr. DeMille has the camera ready for your close up.”
