she is one of the veterans of the “lhh” franchise i started (and ended) that show with.

people i swore up and down would be in my life forever showed they were “fair-weather friends“.
the folks i looked out for,
checked in to see if they were good,
showed up to their events,
hooked up with shit,
and didn’t snitch on them when i was getting let go.

What friendship?
What loyalty?

oftentimes,
i find cancer-born folks deal with this the most.
i don’t fight or argue unless it’s brought to me.
i’ve been fortunate to watch all those who hurt me experience karma they couldn’t escape.

my mother use to sell mary kay and she was really good at it.
she had a lot of products left after she died.
i kid you not,
the day after she died,
her “team leader” and her supposed “friend” came in my crib and took all her products to sell.
i don’t even think my mother was embalmed yet.

“Your mother would want this!” they said as they excitedly hauled all her shit in garbage bags.

folks move really funny out here and you learn it once you’re down or sick.
people around you learn just how people are when you die.
you know the family members who hoot and holler at funerals but ain’t never called when they were alive.

we all have a habit of “posting while angry“.
posting while depressed,
horny,

we have seen how some folks have gotten caught up with their past tweets.

and now “fleets” on twitter help us be unapologetic for 24 hours with disappearing posts.
we have seen how folks will screenshot and repost our shit.
we have seen from different examples of folks who put all their fingers in their mouths.
folks have lost their jobs,
career opportunities,
relationships,
freedom,
and blessings by going a little too hard on the social medias.

i cried for ashley cain over the weekend.
i know,
but i’ll font why.
ashley cain was the mtv reality bad boy who seemed to have changed his ways over the years.
he was a thirst trap kang,
especially showing off that major tail of his,
but it all changed once he had his daughter.
when azaylia diamond cain came into his life,
she really complimented the new “ashley cain”.
it saddened me to learn azaylia was fighting a battle with leukemia upon her birth.
i know how that can go because my mother battled and passed from the same disease.
i follow ashley on his snapchat and he was really active in showcasing that journey.
he spent many days and nights in the hospital,
even working out quietly when she was asleep.
i really was drawn to his dedication on helping his daughter fight for her life.
crazy enough,
i haven’t seen ashley in a while.
he didn’t post anything on snap and i was wondering what he was up to.
i’ve been dealing with my own life so i fell off from catching up.
