so i met the pretty vixen as a journalist.
i was doing pr at this aspiring black entertainment blog at the time.
i witnessed black talent ignore her for any interview.
my last gig was at a black creative company.
i witnessed most of the black stars canceling to go to white spaces.
after watching these tweets…
So many black red carpet interviewers (Lola Ogunnaike in this case), at so many red carpets, truly fight to get interviews.
In so many professions, black professionals need black talent to do with Cynthia did here. pic.twitter.com/O6gy2VvgqS

we gotta do better,
including myself.
thanks for listening.
low-key: interestingly enough,
they’ll hit up all these black resources once they’re in trouble.
Shame on the celebrities being….shocked. Did they think they were the only Black people allowed to be in the industry? However the ones being ousted, are going to be able to create spaces that will be just like Issa Rae’s Awkward Black Girl to Insecure. Black people are the tastemakers. It’s proven by science time and time again. But we push others forward. It’s a sad situation.
Also the “We don’t have this” is fake. Doesn’t Diddy own Revolt? What about TVONE since everyone complains about BET?
Do you support and attend black centered events outside of the ones that are hyped and make it to national press? Often times it’s easy to point the finger when what we should be doing is taking a introspective look at our own selves.
^of course.
those are the ones i attend the most.
usually,
there is no red carpet.
the last “hyped” event i went to was something not for work.
even if i went to the hyped ones,
that still doesn’t excuse the fact that publicists push their black talent to white publications.
Wow! And we’re the ones who stay supporting these motherfuckers! Lil ugly, Gumpi, and queero can all eat shit!
*Gucci Mane walks by*
Reporter: GUCCI MANE….GUCCI…BLACK-OWNED MEDIA…DO IT FOR THE HOOD!!!!….
*Lil Nas X who had the hottest song of 2019 walks by*
Reporter: *crickets*
Chile….
^you peeped that too,
right?
i’m concerned only white spaces would be reaching out to him.
I would not include Lil Nas X because he’s still kinda new and has been interviewed by 3 black reporters from ET, Billboard, Extra.
Yikes. That’s me. Smile at the white folks, run and hug the black ones.
^ it was sad to see those black stars walking past black media like that.
they gotta do better even if its a quick statement.
