WOLVES: TYLER PERRY WANTS YOUR MEAT!

I would love his job…

I couldn’t help but laugh when I read this character breakdown for a guest starring role from a recent casting notice distributed for TBS’s 3rd Tyler Perry-created and produced sitcom series, titled For Better Or Worse.

As we already know, the TV series will be based on TP’s Why Did I Get Married? films (at first plays), and will follow “the ups-and-downs of married life for Marcus and Angela,” characters originated in the features films, played by Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith; both actors will also star in the upcoming TV series, by the way.

TBS has already ordered 10 episodes, with production beginning this week.

Here’s the character breakdown:

[TYREKE] African-American male, mid 20s—late 30s. We are looking for the HOTTEST, SEXIEST, African-American men in all shades! If you have models, submit them! If you represent professional sports athletes who are in great physical condition, submit them! Do not let their acting ability stop you from submitting them! This is a role that is currently being developed and we do not have material. This is a nation wide search so do not let location hinder you! This role works on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 and if the person selected is not within the state of Georgia they will need to be available for us to travel them on Tuesday, June 21st. Travel back will be on Thursday, June 23rd. Be prepared for the possibility that those selected may need to put themselves on tape with some other chosen sides. The actor must be comfortable with their body to do a shirtless scene if required. GUEST STAR

I especially laughed at the “Do not let their acting ability stop you from submitting them!” line! Hah! Obviously, the emphasis here is on the “HOTTEST, SEXIEST” part.

By the way, the deadline for submissions was last week Friday, so don’t bother emailing me to ask how/where you can submit.

  1. As much as we make fun of Tyler, at least he never fucks around with messy wolves/foxes. We all have our suspicions about his sexuality, but thats because of his comfort in drag, casting calls like the one above, his feminine mannerisms when not in drag, and the fact that he doesn’t have multiple children with multiple women. Say what you will, he’s smart enough to keep his business out of the streets. A lesson NBA/NFL/music industry ballers need to learn.

  2. Yes I shoke my head in disbelief when I read this on SandA. As someone who worked as a P.A. with the hopes of becoming an A.D. for a couple years this bothers me. People spend lots of time and money perfecting their crafts just to be looked over thanks to stuff like this. There’s very few African American roles as it is, to then say they don’t have to be able to act.smh At the same time and eventhough I’m not into his work…Im proud of Tyler. It’s not easy accomoplishing what he’s done. Which is why I dropped out. Hats off to him. Again I’m not into any of his films/shows, but I give hime credit. And I dnt think he deserves ALL the backlash. They go in hard (pause)lol on him over at SandA. So much so I dnt even take the time to comment. It’s sort of like what Lebron said…And I knw you didn’t like what Bronbron said Jamari, but there’s truth to it. At the end of the day they get to go on living their privileged lives. Having an opinion is one thing, but devoting so much time to bashing? Naw, it aint worth it.

  3. They wouldnt let me try out bc they was like, “SIR…U IS 462lhs and that shit is nasty!”

SO I WAS LIKE, “FUCK THIS DAMN SHOW. YALL ACT LIKE YALL AINT SEEN A LIL BABY FAT!!! IT GOES RIGHT ALONG WITH MY BABY HAIR!!!!! Yall can kiss my ass”

    I STORMED

  4. As transparent and glaring as this may seem, this is the norm in casting. Jennifer Hudson had no acting experience outside of a school play prior to “Dreamgirls” & now she has an Oscar for her efforts.

Soaps do this all the time. How many of those fine women on daytime are actually good thespians? Emmy-Winning Debbi Morgan is the exception. Ditto Emmy-Winners Shemar Moore and Kristoff St. John..although Shemar didnt have any acting experience either and he’s now a primetime player.

I do believe Tyler lusts after his leading men, jacks off to the dailies and would sop them up with biscuits if he could. But I can’t hate him for helping someone get started in their career or a novice actor for taking said role.

"off topic", trolling, and other nonsense gets sent to my spam folder. other than that, play nice and let's discuss!
