when i font that i didn’t see this firing coming from cnn today

getting fired can be a shock for many of us.
we be working,
thinking we doing a good job,
and our higher-ups have whole other plans.

Sidebar: I hate when jobs fire you but have you training your replacement and you don’t even realize it.

well,
like the person involved,
i’m stunned at this recent firing from cnn…

CNN anchor Don Lemon tweeted that he’s been terminated from the network.

Lemon said he’s “stunned” and learned the news from his agent.

CNN tweeted that the network and Lemon “have parted ways.”

“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” CNN said in a statement. “We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

The news came hours after Lemon co-hosted “CNN This Morning” alongside Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.

sheesh.
i wonder why they got rid of him.
after 17 years,
he seemed like a staple on the network.
its like when they let go of the veteran at our jobs.
someone who has been there since the beginning of time.

i hope he is able to bounce back quickly with a new gig.
on the same day that don was fired,
tucker carlson was let go from fox news too.

i don’t really care about his firing tho.
this is a humbling reminder to us:

Nothing in life is guaranteed.
Things are scheduled to change,
whether it is good or bad.
Life can have a way of humbling or promoting us.

lowkey: trump had something to font about don…

  1. Don Lemon
Told that musty curry powder crumb Vivek the WHOLE DAMN TRUTH. Plessy vs Ferguson hailed the onset of separate but equal farce. Then the black codes and ending of Reconstruction. The NRA wasn’t in existence at that time
Nikki Haley is a delusional pseudo White woman who should simply should JUST GO AWAY
CNN will not prosper and is heading towards the Twilight zone due to its quest to saturate it’s airwaves with election deniers as guest’s. Gayle King and Charles Barkley will flop.

    1. Don was right in his tweet. Judging by what has been leaking from CNN they are trying to justify the firing. CNN has been trying to position themselves closer to the Right. I’m guessing they expected Don to let Vivek lie unchallenged. Also viewers don’t want conflict in the morning so why book someone you know is gonna lie on national TV? Don has had problematic moments but this firing is more about trying to gain Fox viewers. Good Luck with that.

  2. I guess the lesson here is…don’t get too comfortable. Sometimes people think they’re irreplaceable due to time at a job or how well they think they’re doing.

For the newbie’s who kiss ass to get on television and get attention, this could be you next!
Karma has a way of catching up with you. 😉

    1. It honestly was a multitude of things. The recent sexist/misogynistic comments, the tension with his co-hosts behind the scenes. He berated Kaitlan on camera, and that didn’t go over well. He was drunk on live TV twice (New Year’s Eve). The combative interview with Vivek (although I think he expressed a VERY good point…you can’t school a black person about their rights and freedoms unless you’ve been in their shoes) was the tipping point. He forgot he was a host/journalist and went in on dude…who was talking some BS about securing our freedoms. What freedoms?! HE could walk/drive down a street and not get stopped by a cop, but a black man would. White folks wouldn’t see him as a threat. He was talking like one of those folks who like to “think” they’ve been accepted by white America, but when the shit hits the fan…they would be shown they aren’t welcome either.
Don lost his professionalism at that moment. It was hilarious watching Poppy fidget nervously and finally pull out her phone like screw it, let them go at it. LOL

      1. ^ yikes,
im hearing and seeing that don has been a mess and this was coming for a while now.
he might have gotten too comfortable and thought he was a special snowflake…

  3. The disrespect of no one keeping it 100 w him and giving him the heads up after 17 years is really pathetic and just speaks to how disgusting corporations are.

    1. Not their job. Don made an ass of himself recently by yelling at Caitlyn on set, then there was calling that Republican chick too old to be running for president (She’s younger than him). Then there was that hit piece about being nasty and stalking his female.co host at CNN in like 2012. Oh and saying Soledad O’Brien wasn’t Black Enough to host a show on race. It was an article in TVLine, that probably did him in at CNN. I’m sure News Nation will snatch him up in a couple of months.

      1. He never called Nikki Haley too old. And the issue with Soledad Obrien happened years ago.

        1. Actually, he said she was past her prime. LOL
The comment upset his co-host Poppy, that she walked off the set.

        2. Yikes! I’m sure he’ll be replacing TJ Holmes fine ass at ABC once the dust settles. I don’t see him out of a job for too long unless he decides to blow this up or some mess gets revealed to hinder him. There are times when Don did the damn thang and other times where he was doing the most so I’m split of what some of y’all are saying are the reasons he got the boot. I do love that he is educated and passionate about what he does. I also liked his friendship with Chris Cuomo, another CNN reporter who got the boot unceremoniously.
