when i got the email about this from my faithful f-bi….
i literally ran for my computer.
to think, it was a boring sunday…

TBS has announced a new black gay male comedy-drama starting Spring 2013 titled “Tony and Dave” which will be produced by Tyler Perry. The setting is Houston, Texas where Tony (Omari Hardwick) is a very successful Networking Engineer Director and Dave (Mel Jackson) is an Aircraft Mechanic.  The two are in a 3 year relationship. The supporting cast is Robert (played by Jon Michael Hill) and Steven (played by Ian Kahn). They are an interracial couple that are friends with Tony and Dave and have been together for over 10 years. They also have a 12 year old son. There will be another gay friend to Tony and Dave named Jamal (played by Omar Benson Miller).  The show will also star Justin (played by Henry Simmons) who is Dave’s straight fraternity brother.  Elisa (played by Essence Atkins) who is also friends of Tony and Dave and used to date Justin.   Rounding out the supporting cast will be Tony’s older brother Andre (played by Rockmond Dunbar) who struggles with his brother’s sexuality.

And Omari Hardwick keeps showing out in every “gay” role, yet he CLAIIIMMMS he had to get out of character or get deviant, some off the wall shit like that, to do the first tyler perry gay movie…hope we see him get fucked.   5. I don’t think y’all didn’t read the whole article – he made it up as a point about there being “no positive functional homosexual black or minority male couples on television.” The closest thing is Kal & the Obama look-alike dude. He made a good point though.

This rumor is going to go far, hey everybody its just a joke, someone made this whole scenario up, I read this the other day on another blog and it got people talking but of course its not true, I see many on here didnt read the whole thing were he said he made the whole thing up. This would be groundbreaking and really good if it were only true. Maybe the buzz created by this rumor will peak some producers interest to really develop something that really good. I will wait.

  9. I will check it out. I was a big fan of TP until I realized all the other black writers/producers/directors who actually have a good quality of work that isn’t redundant. Don’t get me wrong Tyler has written some good things (ex family that preys, why did I get married/the first one, and for colored girls) but a lot of his scripts are all the same things with new characters. And as a writer myself, that is one of the most annoying things, to witness someone with potential waste it.

    However I am pretty sure that he will leave many people bored with this one script wise. But the eye candaaaayyy we gonna see is gonna be critical lol. I was wondering about Mel today when I saw him on Steve Harvey show. And I actually d believe Omari is very straight, but I think he is one of the best actorsmHollywood has to offer. He really does know how to utilize his chops when u stop looking at his perfectly chiseled, rough around the edge face. And light skin thick pecs. He really is a good acotor. But glad to see them working and getting a steady check again. I think Mel will benefit the most from it.

When they first start out they (celebrities) are humble and give thanks etc, etc. Once they get recognition they want more and more (forget humility) and they comes the offer of success beyond belief but it comes at a price – your SOUL Nicca! Little by little the media is brainwashing the weak minded ppl of our global society.. and in my humble opinion its Shyt like this!!!! Not so much a fan anymore…I’m shocked Tyler Perry would commender a project like this. All about the $$$ and with his clout many followers will be brainwashed to this abomination!   11. Most actors in the movie industry are gay or bi. You have to look at it as most or all of the guys who major in acting or theater at any college is gay. So with that how is it that in Hollywood most the guys are “straight” that is not the reality we all know and see. I heard that Chace Crawford, from Gossip Girl, is gay. I’m telling you now if I ever see him around the city I’m spitting that major G.

    Is L.A. Complex even doing well in ratings? We all know CW will end a show quick. They only really care about 90210 and Gossip Girl.

  15. Because they are GAY!! LOL! this is probably they way of coming out without coming out while profiting off of it in the process. I guess it will make it easier for them in their natural everyday lives to deal with. My thing is how believable will their on screen romance be seeing that they are still marketable go to, young attractive Black actors who bring out the big buck for Black Media. When you want to bring Black women to the movies these are some of the guys they call, they gotta keep that hetero hyper masculine image in tact.
