my owner lets me take yearly vacations and approves my sick days, he does

this is one of those “dumb” moments we all have.
the one where after we say something,
we catch ourselves with a heavy wait a minute….
so nba baller wolf,
king james,
said on his hbo show,
“the shop”:

“In the NFL they got a bunch of old white men owning teams and they got that slave mentality,” James said. “And it’s like, ‘This is my team. You do what the f— I tell y’all to do. Or we get rid of y’all.’ ”

…which is a solid opinion.
the combine is like a modern day slave auction.

well nfl baller wolf for the chargers,
antonio gates,
disagrees with what king james had to say.
he gon’ say on “tmz sports”

I don’t know all the owners—I know my owner. And, my relationship with my owner has been phenomenal,” Gates said. “And, it’s sports. You know what I mean? You get paid to play. … We all know what we sign up for.”

“my owner”.
antonio walked right into that one.

i’ve been thinking a lot about working and realistically,
we are all slaves in some way.
escorts may think they have no “boss”,
but they have to smash/smashed in order to see a check.
they are slaves to whoever is “paying for their gaying”.
the public are the bosses to every celeb out here.
our money and support keep them employed.
if we are working “9 to 5” tho,
we are owned by whoever signs our checks.
there is really no freedom in having a desk job.
it’s not like having a career.
we have to hustle for vacation and sick time.
we work all week to look forward to the weekend.
like,
what?
dame dash is quoted as saying in a ’15 breakfast club interview:

How could a man say he has a boss and be proud? How can another man call another man boss? That’s like calling another man daddy. There is no amount of money in this world someone could pay me for me to call them my boss. That’s like calling somebody daddy.”

even tho dame is dame,
and he has his moments,
that shit stuck with me when i first heard it.
so freedom is my mindset for 2019.
like some of you,
i don’t want to be a slave to a “9 to 5” any longer.

lowkey: doesn’t the nba have team owners as well?
isn’t king james owned too?
not only by the general public,
but by a team owner as well?

  1. Slaves don’t get paid, but I get what he’s saying.

Even if you’re your own boss, you’re still a slave. The people that own these football teams are slaves to the general public, if he didn’t watch the games, they wouldn’t have the money.

None of us are “slaves” to anyone except for the all mighty dollar.

  2. Antonio clearly meant the owner of his team! I’m getting so sick of this pro black vs any & everything mentaility. Black people want to be taken seriously but could give two fucks if you’re black & gay!

  3. I think Lebron was talking about the NFL being more racist than other leagues and organizations. There are racist NBA owners, and it was exposed after the situation with Donald Sterling. However, there are a lot of racist owners in the NFL that have a slave mentality. In the NBA, players are given more freedom, especially when it comes to freedom of speech, and expressing themselves, which may be because the majority of the NBA is black.

  4. Umm yea, i thought all sports teams have owners, lol, including the NBA. Your’e right Jamari, were all slaves. Dame might not have to call anyone his boss/daddy but he still has to answer to someone, Uncle Sam. He thought he was free, silly rabbit.
