Haha JF it’s kinda funny you’re highlighting the muscle god that is Ched, when it was because of you that I started following months ago (before he did Love Island).
You posted this melanin heavy photo months ago (https://www.instagram.com/p/B2e3jOphqtX/) and Ched was there, so it was lust at first sight for me.
Anyway I think he’s a decent guy. Despite how he came across in some of Love Island’s episodes, he got brain with good plans for his future. I think he and Jess are still together, but the lockdown means they aren’t with each other at present.

A lot of black gays will complain about straight black men being obsessed with pale skin and narrow features, but the identical thing goes out in the black gay community as well. I can’t tell you how many mediocre looking dudes I’ve seen get gassed up just because they were light with pale eyes and/or thin features. Really pathetic.
Fact is, internalized anti-blackness is rampant amongst black people all over the world. Love who you love and all that, but black people, gay and straight, really need to take stock about how they’re showing up in these interracial, “color-blind” relationships.

sorry to burst your bubble guys, but they weren’t really into each other on the show. it’s a competition and there was only one black girl on the show who was already with another black guy on the show when he joined. We can call out the casting team for the poor diversity but this isn’t another opportunity for an essay on race and relationships.
On another note, check out Michael Boateng (one half of the shows only black couple and they were gorgeous) and Ovie Soko, both from love island and both super hot
Completely agree. It’s a scripted reality show, these relationships aren’t real and they are just come ups for models. I thought we learned this from the “Flavor of Love” days.

They will break up before the end of the year, guaranteed. Most of these “relationships” that come out of reality TV have a 6 month expiry date. When they can no longer bank together as a couple they go their separate ways. Ched is 23 and Jess is 20/21. Its not a serious relationship.
Mike Boateng is very handsome and loved his chocolate girls. It was refreshing to finally see a Black guy on Love Island who was unapologetic about his desire for Black women. It’s astonishing that I’m even writing this because if anyone has ever watched Love Island you’d think that Black people are allergic to dating one another. Like another poster said, the black people who agree to cast for this show generally seek white validation.
Ovie Soko was the most loved Black guy on this show I will say that.

Black men are so fixated on non-black/white women that in the future, there wont be any beautiful dark skinned men. The show is incredibly anti-black… I can’t understand how season after season this show, the non-black contestants, and a considerable share of its fanbase has been exposed for racism, black men and women gladly volunteer to be the token black to meet the diversity quota…. Then again, I can’t be too surprised as the black (and other non-white) contestants all reek of a desperate need for white validation.
