when we look at the beautiful ones,
we often think their lives are perfect than ours.
they have perfect credit scores and their hair has the perfect curl pattern.
Even the beautiful ones have problems.
method man,
who looks amazing for his age in his early 50s,
spoke candidly about his depression…
whoa,
excuse my ignorance…
i would never have thought that mr. meth would be depressed about anything.
he always came off so full of life and just happy to be there.
as someone else who suffers from depression,
i felt him when he said that he knows when its coming on.
i felt that one heavy.
you could be having a good day and then boom!
depression can make you feel like everything is awful when its not.
it can keep you in your head in a constant loop of bad thoughts.
It goes to show we truly never know what others are going through.
…but i do appreciate him being honest and transparent.
we need to have more of these conversations to show us we aren’t alone.
actually,
let me rephrase:
More conversations from other males being transparent about their mental struggles.
Yes, he has been talking about this more and more of the last few years. He mentioned that his smoking impacted his mental health as well but that it has been something he has always been dealing with.
You seem to be applying attractiveness and “seeming happy” to not thinking he was down. He’s an attractive man who likely gets propositioned by rich white older men and women if he wants to further his career. Likely got bad deals, feeling guilt about “making it”, could have sick family members, a bad childhood, looking good and seeming to be doing good does not a happy life make.
Depressed people don’t usually say they’re depressed. They don’t want to bring others down and fake it.
We saw this with Robin Williams.
The people who seem the happiest in this world…we should never fall for that.
Being happy in this world, yeah they need to be checked on or offer what’s got them feeling so good.
