when radio host charlamagne tha god from #power1051 speaks,
i usually listen.
he is actually a really smart wolf underneath all the word vomit.
so he had an interview with vlad tv where he was asked about homophobic jackals.
they brought up how other artists don’t wanna work with frank ocean because he is bisexual.
his answer may just surprise you…
#FACTS
“homophobic men are scared of their own karma”
isn’t that the deepest thing you’ve heard in a while?
it makes perfect sense tho.
shit we even talked about how wolves may react to the comments on my site.
you know i have no fucks to give if i think a wolf is cute.
he should be flattered.
i got excellent taste.
anyway i always thought homophobes were scared of who they are.
some may even be scared of what they “see“.
meaning they see queens and “gay boyfriends” and think in order to like men,
they have to be overly feminine or some vixen’s purse holder.
for some that maybe true.
“not i and a majority of the people who read my site,” said me.
you’ll be shocked to know who visits.
i’m glad charlamagne shed light on this tho.
if only people would stop condemning what they don’t understand.
the world would be a much better place.
gold star charlamagne.
Zen great and thoughtful feedback and just for the record I am merely arguing some counter points to bring some balance to this dialogue by presenting another perspective not to clean or to be argumentative for the sake of arguing lol. Now that I got all of the disclaimers out of the way , let’s get to work. You said in response to my post:
“I get the interaction with females only part, but the appreciation is something they’ll have to get over because they can’t stop me from doing that. If your pics are out there then they’re free for me to admire.”
I was not saying that there is a problem with looking at their pictures; I was talking more about when they say “for females only and thirsty and inappropriately aggressive gay men load their in-boxes with inappropriate sexual offers and remarks. I mean you can look, lust, admire, but don’t comment or harass especially since these guys are stating that they don’t want gay me on their webpage much less any comment from from hem. I personally tend to only go places where I am invited and if someone say to me that I am not welcomed at their place I leave and sake the dust off my feet and never look back. They are not worth the potential money that my web hit can generate for them. I mean how many of us go to KKK sites and make friendly comments to their members hoping that they will return the favor lol?
You said “I really hope they’re not that stupid. That makes straight guys sound like Cave men. “Why he like me when me make clear me only like girls.” Um… because I’m a gay dude, duh!”
Have you met straight men before lol? Many of them are exactly like cavemen lol and they are very primitive sexually, emotionally, and intellectually lol.
You said “Straight women would never ponder why lesbians are lusting after them. She’s a chick that likes chicks, that’s all there is to it.
I think you are mostly correct with this statement and this is why I think that I said in my post that “women are more comfortable with their sexually than men are,” and I provided several links to back up my theory. However, I have been privy to many conversations where straight black women express an equal amount of homophobia at the thought of another woman liking them sexually. Black women in general can be more homophobic than black men, and I think that black men and men in general are more open to the notion of homosexuality between women than between men. I also agree with you Lesbians can be equal in thinking that straight women are after them, however I wasn’t speaking about Lesbians because I really don’t know that much about their psycho-sexual aspects of their culture.
You said “As for the internalized homophobia, I think that goes both ways. There are bottoms that don’t like tops to suck dick because they feel they’re supposed to do what straight men do, which is is just penetrate. I don’t think there is hate for verse people because every gay person is somewhat verse.”
I can only speak about my observational experience which is many total bottoms and total tops really don’t get a verse brother because they are stuck in their ridged role expectations.” I mentioned the oral sex part just to point out that many gay men would be shocked if hey knew their tops were engaging in that same act the same as straight NFL players would if they found one of their boys did.
You said that
“problem we have in the gay community is feeling like someone is pretending to be a top… I guess. When a man claims he is a top but his hand is hanging a little too limp or his nails are a little too long, we think he’s pretending to be a top but he may just be a feminine top, or verse, or he tried bottoming and didn’t like it so he decided to be a top only. I saw a super feminine queen wearing eye-liner, lip-stick, and big feathery coat claim he was a strict top.”
Exactly, and I am glad you brought it up because I think that many black gay sites only feature hyper-masculine, thugged out muscle bound black men, however they never feature feminine brothers which is a great example of the internalized homophobia I am talking about. It is almost like they are being made invisible like blacks were in this country during the 1950’s on tv and in film lol. I have been to websites and blogs where gays say some very hateful and homophobic things to each other, and in my opinion bottoms say some of the harshest things to each other, more so that I ever heard straight men say to gay men.
While I am not the biggest fan of Charlemagne and his antics I do see the validity in his statement. It’s hard for most straight men to see past the public image of a gay man. Like you said Jamari, most expect an overly feminized man or a mindless sidekick to a female. I think that part of this needs to be exposing people to other sides and dimensions to the homosexual male. It is no different than prejudging a certain race based off stereotypical preconceived notions. The best thing gay men can do is show not everyone fits into this ‘idea’ and even those who do, pose no threat and just wanted to be accepted as they are.
He’s cute.
What is with the shade toward ‘feminine’ men? Just leave the alone you flaming hypocrites.
I listen to his radio show in the am and I’m not surprised by his statement. A lot of his views and comments when it comes to homosexuals is empathetic and sometimes I get confused thinking he’s actually gay or bisexual. Also he makes it known that he absolutely loves Beyoncé. Lol.
Wow I must say that I am very surprised at this statement. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad he made that comment because it makes allot of sense. I just remember the days of him being on Wendy Williams radio show and I thought he was homophobic then but I guess time change so anyone can evolve and change. I secretly always thought he got down anyway.lol
Yup..he is right…most men with this so called ‘fear’ is really scared of their own karma. Frankly a lot of their so called brothers are sucking dicks and if they know they would have a coronary. Like the NFL players talking about if a gay man looks at them in the shower..Give me a damn break,,YOU ALL PLAY WITH EACH OTHER IN THE SHOWER. Now that a gay man is in the locker room for him to see the antics you guys do its now a problem?. Its not that the NFL players are scared of the gay man looking at them, rather the gay man NOT looking at them is the real problem. It would blow his own concept of his own masculinity and sexuality. If he does not look at him then chances are if he is not attractive to a man then he is now seriously wondering if he is attractive to a woman. Thats the KARMA Charlemagne is talking about. Karma is a bitch.
Mr. Fox:
This is a great post and I think that everyone has made some very valid points although I think that is highly probable that many Straight men who are overtly homophobic do have some internalized fear of being either gay themselves or have had a or several homosexual experience to the point of orgasm, however for some reason they consider themselves to be 100% straight. Here are some interesting links that continue this debate:

One of your poster wrote ” Straight guys claimed that the str8 male had a right to be pissed at the gay male because str8 guys don’t expect to be hit on or objectified by other men. They said it’s be okay if the female character objectified the male back because they expect women to do the same but using a gay male doesn’t work for that analogy because blah blah blah.” Very well said and I agree that the act of sexual objectification is insulting to anyone regardless of gender or sexual orientation if the person being objectified isn’t a willing participant in the process. For example, the people who are described as “attention whores on this blog; it is clear that they want to be objectified by their intended audience.
The operative word being” intended audience “meaning there are so called attention whore who clearly state on their blog, twitter, Facebook, or Instagram pages that they are only interested in interacting and or being appreciated by females only. Then there are others who are exclusively interested in appealing to a gay or bisexual audience and finally others who don’t care who admires or objectify them as long as it get them the desire results with exposure or work. On the flip side there are many “attention whores who are gay who equally get negatively harassed by straight men and women for being openly gay or bisexual online.
However, I think the most critical point to this is that there are truly 100% straight men out there who haven’t a clue as to why gay men are objectifying and or harassing them while they are online and for these straight men they usually respond to the notion that another man finds them sexually attractive as repugnant and as an attack on their masculinity/manhood and they react accordingly. Man black social scientist believe that homophobia is strongly rooted in what happen to black men during slavery but that is a topic perhaps for a different thread lol. I think that these men are homophobic but it has very little to do with their being a closet gay. Am I arguing that homophobia is excusable in this instant no, however I am arguing that it is a knee jerk reaction to some straight men who are truly straight when shown sexual appreciation by another man.
The poster also wrote “I had another friend who claimed he stopped hanging around the gay friend alone because he always thought the gay friend had a crush on him. For some reason, they think every gay dude wants them.” I agree that this is sad and tragic that a friendship would be broken up over a so called friend’s sexual orientation and from what it sounds like this guy wasn’t really a friend to begin with because his friendship was very conditional. Hopefully this guy will one day mature and see the errors of his ways, and I agree that there are a lot of straight men who think that every gay man is after them, however I know a lot of gay men who thinks that every straight man are after them as well.
Finally, it has been my experience that I have witness more internalized homophobia in the “black gay community” than I tend to do in the straight community. For example, the sex role play how many bottoms show a strong dislike or anger towards other bottoms or effeminate gays, the ridged subscription to hyper masculinity in the form of thug or muscle worship, and the general condemnation of versatile men from both tops and bottoms. Just my two dollars (I made the adjustment due to inflation) lol.

I get the interaction with females only part, but the appreciation is something they’ll have to get over because they can’t stop me from doing that. If your pics are out there then they’re free for me to admire.

I really hope they’re not that stupid. That makes straight guys sound like Cave men. “Why he like me when me make clear me only like girls.” Um… because I’m a gay dude, duh! Straight women would never ponder why lesbians are lusting after them. She’s a chick that likes chicks, that’s all there is to it. Gay guys aren’t the only ones that think every man is gay either. I know many lesbians that claimed Keri Hilson was gay for some reason. I guess they have an easier time doing that because many women experiment sexually with other women even if they’re straight.
As for the internalized homophobia, I think that goes both ways. There are bottoms that don’t like tops to suck dick because they feel they’re supposed to do what straight men do, which is is just penetrate. I don’t think there is hate for verse people because every gay person is somewhat verse. That’s why there are options like verse/top and verse/bottom. The problem we have in the gay community is feeling like someone is pretending to be a top… I guess. When a man claims he is a top but his hand is hanging a little too limp or his nails are a little too long, we think he’s pretending to be a top but he may just be a feminine top, or verse, or he tried bottoming and didn’t like it so he decided to be a top only. I saw a super feminine queen wearing eye-liner, lip-stick, and big feathery coat claim he was a strict top.
The reason we have a problem with feminine gays is because we’re men so we expect men to act like men. Personally tho, it depends on the person. I’ve been attracted to many feminine gays. The ones that turn me off are the loud ones. I think feminine gays can be really cute and they always look clean, like they bathe a lot.
I agree with his statement. First and foremost, I am not laying up fantasizing about no straight man, period. Yea I kid and joke around but a straight man can’t do shit for me. I went on a instagram model’s page(yea lol) the other day to discover that he doesn’t take pictures from the side or from the back, all of them are from the front. That is not a coincidence. Is it that serious? No one is going to take your manhood dude, chill out and let us enjoy your body. If you are that concerned about us, then you are suspect man. We are not even that concerned about you to begin with.
I also believe that the gay guys who are out here exposing everyone are giving us a bad rep. Society has the habit of placing certain groups in a box based on one’s actions, which makes us all suffer. I am not like those guys, I conduct myself in a reserved manner….in public anyway lol.
Great response and I agree with you and I just wanted to add that I think that all men in general are less confidence with their sense of masculinity than say females are because of how society tends to define the sex roles of men and women. Here are some interesting links on the subject.

I agree with this, those who use their time and energy to prey on the straight, or ‘dl’ men make any sort of relationship with gay men a negative thought.
Wow. I can’t believe that came out of him. I used to not be able to stand him because of his mouth. So it’s all just an act for radio huh? He’s just a shock-jock, doing it for ratings. What he said was said before by others before.
I remember a drawing was going around on the internet of a male character objectifying a woman and then the male character was being objectified by a gay male character in the next panel. Straight guys claimed that the str8 male had a right to be pissed at the gay male because str8 guys don’t expect to be hit on or objectified by other men. They said it’s be okay if the female character objectified the male back because they expect women to do the same but using a gay male doesn’t work for that analogy because blah blah blah.
I thought their explanation was bullshit. Objectification is the same, no matter who is doing it. I had a friend come out and although everyone was cool with it, I had another friend who claimed he stopped hanging around the gay friend alone because he always thought the gay friend had a crush on him. For some reason, they think every gay dude wants them.
